I read through all the other comments here before I started to enter mine. Right from the start, I had a problem with the VoIP modem not working...A quick "read" through the "manual" that came with it told me to "open" port 5060 on my router and direct it to a static IP address for (of) the modem. "POW" and there it was... dial tone - un-interrupted for almost a year now. I think my key point here for those that have problems with this service - "RTFM" first, then call. Actually - they (voip.net) just sold out to Broadvox anyway, hope I'm "grandfathered" into the same pricing plan... Broadvox is $10.00 a month more for the same plan.

Reviewers Comments:

I have been voip.net customer for about a year. You can not get the customer support most of the time. They come to work for an hour or two in the day if they come at all. Resolving any issue is impossible as they never reply to your e-mails. The billing is frequently wrong and getting it corrected is next to impossible. Better keep away from this provider.

Reviewers Comments:

Ordering through the website was easy but reaching anyone by phone took me to voicemail unless I chose the sales department. The sales rep I wound up talking to, Jessica Laborde, eventually dealt with me by e-mail to say that they were having trouble issuing me a phone number, to please be patient, and that the fault lay with "my local phone company" because they weren't giving Voip.net any numbers to use. Last I knew, local companies have no control over the allocation of numbers. So I asked Jessica for my no-hassle money-back guarantee. She wrote back to say that the guarantee expired after fourteen days and that I had gone over that period already. So no phone number, no dialtone -- and no refund. I had no other option than to file a dispute with my credit card company.

Reviewers Comments:

VOIP.NET IS A HUGE SCAM. I don't believe that they have provided anyone with any type of VOIP service. In the beginning of April I went to their site and liked what I saw. So assuming that they were legit, I filled out the order form. Their system keeps rejecting my data "system time out it said". So I went on. Not knowing that they will keep charging my credit card with out any sort of notification or anything else what so ever. I could not get hold of anybody there. The meaning of customer service is a voice mail that hangs up on you. You can?t even leave a message. They have not yet answered even one of my emails.....I had told a neighbor and he almost has gone through identical situation as I. It has cost us about $100 till now. I had chosen the plan 12,95 but they are charging my card 27,95 the most expensive one. I guess their wrong assumption has probably been on their part that most of their customers are not wealthy enough to go after them. But guess again....there will be a law suit and posting on the VOIP boards with warnings and an invite for those scammed to join in the suit. Take care.
