Geez! I just renewed at end of May... for annual subscription. Everywhere I go to look for
replacement VOIP is like trolls... enticing you to be their PAYING customer. Some offers 3
months free... But geez! Call up your credit card company and request refund. Hopefully AMEX will help those who
use them... I am not sure about others... I recall long ago... VISA/MC are not helpful at all. Darn it... I loved SunRocket... zero problem... until this bomb.
these people went out of business & never informed us the customers in advance. they never
made any attempt at keeping us informed about the situation & if we will be reimbursed or
not. good value & website, but going out of business sucks!!!!!!!! obviously, if i loose
my money i will never do business with them again. they made everyone pay up front & now i
see that was a bad decision on my part. from now on, i will do business on a month to
month bases. i lost over $150 on the 2 year plan!!!!!!!! my friend, who referred me,
lost a lot of money to.
My "Yes" ranking is only valid if they're still in business when you are reading this
(which is highly doubtful). Another qualifier in my rankings is the 3 for customer service
-- as I never called them (no need) I really can't provide a true rating. Fortunately for
me, my 1 year anniversary is a couple weeks away, so SR's probable demise will not cost me.
As I see it, I received the same phone service as the POTS, but spent only $200 vs. $840,
an excellent bargain. SR, you were great when you were alive and I'll probably regret your
passing as I attempt to move my number to another VoIP service.
I have service for less than 3 months and was fine. As of 17th July the service is down for me
and all the friends I know. Their Customer service is out and not accepting calls. Seems
SunRocket is OUT OF BUSINESS. Hope it is still in business as I dont want to lose all that
money.
I bought the 1-year plan of Sun Rocket and now they just closed their doors,
I don't know what to do... no service, no answer to my emails, no anything!
I dont recommend SunRocket for no one, they don't have any respect for its customers,
change to a better provider while you guys still can port your number!
I am at end of 2 Year contract. Every thing is great in Sunrocket. Only disappointed by not
getting SIP username and password for my account. Sunrocket does not support any custom
device (which is OK) but does not share your SIP information.
I've had this almost 2 months and got this service even though people were putting it down. I've found out that reviews are most of the time people who don't know how to use a computer
or anything about computers. I've had the best service you can get NOBODY AND I MEAN
NOBODY KNOWS I AM ON VOIP, THE SOUND IS CLEAR NO DROPPED CALLS EVEN
WHEN 3 COMPUTERS ARE WATCHING STREAMING MOVIES AT THE SAME TIME, and I only paid 99$ for the first year of service. for some reason this form don't like Sunrocket
but there's other forms with people who love it. I hook my phone adaptor they give you to the cable modem then I hook my wireless router in
the back of there box, they tell you if you have a router to plug it into the router, well I know a lot
about computers and that's why I hooked mine up the way I did. and that's why I run 3
computers at the same time and use the phone and there's no difference at all.

YOU CAN FIND BAD STUFF ABOUT ALL VOIP COMPANIES, THAT'S BECAUSE PEOPLE
BLAME 98% ON THE COMPANY AND MOST OF IT IS THE INTERNET PROVIDER OR THE
PEOPLE TRYING TO USE IT.
I signed up for a special promotion of Unlimited Monthly for $19.95/mo with 2 FREE Month
Trial. Everything said I would not be charged for anything (no setup fee, no activation, etc.)
All during Sing up it said I owed a total of $0. But then a few days later I am charged $212 for
the annual plan. I called to get it refunded immediately and was told I would be contacted by
email within 3-4 days. I told them that was not good enough and I wanted it taken care of
right now on the phone. "That's not the way we do things around here." is what I was told. I
was then told I should cancel my service to maybe get it done faster so I said ok and was
transferred to someone else. They told me they do refunds all the time and there was no need
to cancel. I was also told that it would be forwarded to a manager and taken care of within 24
hours. 3 days later and my ticket is still open with no refund given. I had to borrow money
and put into my account so this wouldn't screw up my bills and other charges I have made. IF
I ever get my money back then I am going to go after the fees I had to incur of because of the
loan I had to get to cover their mistake!
I've been a customer for a little over 1 yr. I signed up on the annual 1 price plan. Had many
problems with dropped calls, service unavailable at first, but this gradually got better. I was to
the point of thinking maybe this was going to work. I liked many of the features, like receiving
an email when I got a voice mail. I had 3 phone numbers, my original account, my old
number transferred, and a third number I used for local calls in Colorado. Again these were
nice features.
Then a couple of weeks ago, just after their scheduled outage/upgrade I lost use of all but my
main number. No warnings, nothing, my 2 alternate numbers gone. Voicemail boxes wiped
out, everything gone. All but very basic features are gone for my main line. Who knows
what's really going on. No response from customer service. I haven't even been able to get into
online customer service for over a week. I sent an email to them several days ago with no
response.
Basically this service is a joke. No professional company would have you down for weeks. I
expect them to be out of business in 6 months - if that long. They did manage to bill me for
another year, that's money gone forever.
I started with SunRocket in May, 2005. It has been a great two years until now. I can't
get them to change my plan! The credit card they have on file is an old one that is not
active any longer. But they keep billing it and sending me an e-mail saying that my credit
card has been declined. I keep telling them that I will give them a new card when they
change my plan, but it hasn't happened yet. I got an e-mail the other day saying that my
plan had been changed and now I owe them $38.00. That was $9.95 for the plan and the rest
was for "other fees." I almost decided I could live with this, but the next day I
got an
e-mail saying that I now owed $58.00. I can't afford $20.00 a day! I have tried calling
them and everyone I talked to said I needed to talk to someone else. They would put me
through to that person, I would have to wait for a while, then that person would say I
needed to talk to someone else. This took most of a day. I wish their customer service
was as good as it was at the beginning of my dealings with them.
I joined Sunrocket and had 2 lines for 2 different houses. They were great before I joined
but afterwards, they refused to honor their rewards system. If you don't care about the
rewards, then it doesn't matter but they do not keep their promises after they have you
onboard as a customer.
Their reliability and features are pretty good but overall, their customer service needs a
lot of work. After you sign on, they no longer care whether or not you are satisfied and I
have been a customer for almost 3 years.
I would not recommend them. There are better companies out their.
Unless you plan to use it for _exactly_ one or two (etc) WHOLE year(s), do not bother
trying this VoIP provider. Here is my story: I signed up for one years' plan and decided to renew for another year due to their promise they would refund unused portion should I decide to cancel ANYTIME. After finding that I am not using the VoIP at all for a couple of months, I called to cancel. They DID cancel and send confirmation email saying the refund will be credited to my credit card in 3-5 business days. Two weeks after that, nothing was credited to my credit card account. I called to inquire that and was told unfortunately their billing system had some problem right the day after I cancelled so the credit was recorded as service credit, which is of course of no use for customers who do not have an account with them. And they were working very hard to fix it and asked me to call back in a week.
You bet they did not fix the problem in a week and I also got email survey and an invitation from their sales staff offering free for 3 months etc. I called to ask for the credit and was told that I was unfortunately among those who were affected by the billing system.
Feeling really frustrated, I put the charge on dispute with my credit card company. I was told by my credit card company that they expected Sunrocket to refund sooner than typical because I have written evidence. Of course, Sunrocket did not.
I guess the next step might be BBB, Class lawsuit, etc. Well, if you do not want trouble, steer away from this cheap company! You would not regret it. Do they offer cheaper rate, definitely if you use them for one/two/three/... whole years. Is it worth the trouble, no!
