iTalkBB is primarily aimed at the Chinese-speaking community, Mandarin preferable. They offer a bunch of special features aimed at telephone calls to China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Unfortunately, that's probably where the good aspects of the company stops. Call quality hovers between inconsistent and just plain crappy. My mother and I spent over two months dancing between our regular local phone company and iTalkBB to port our phone number before finally getting a person from our phone company telling us that our number couldn't be ported; thanks for guaranteeing that to us, iTalkBB. Furthermore, their customer service is a joke. My mother speaks Chinese, but doesn't understand technology and technological jargon very well, so I usually cover that aspect when dealing with customer service. Not this time: I would call iTalkBB to discuss something (again), and I would get a rep that barely spoke any English at all and didn't understand it when I used basic terms that she should understand (working in the VoIP industry and all) like: adapter, cable modem, ethernet cable, router, phone jack, etc. My mother would have to get on the phone, but since she doesn't understand technical jargon, nothing was able to get across to her either. The only thing that was good was that we had no problems canceling the service once our one-year term was up. Don't be fooled into this company.

Absolutely one of the worst company out there. Customer Service is a joke - you usually have to wait 1-2 days for them to call you back and if they leave a message on your VoIP line that doesn't work, you will have to call back and go through the exercise all over again. The Quality is inconsistent at best. The voicemail function is a SCAM. It doesn't work Buyer beware.

Stay away from ITALKBB. They blocked calls from their customers to us after we terminated their services and use another service. We have to complaint to county consumer affair office to get it resolved and get our service unblocked. They sent us collection notice for the charges we did not owe. They cut off our service before our 14 month usage was due after they failed to charge our credit card, they wanted the "free equipment" back. So they said we owe them 104 dollars and if we sent back the equipment, then we did not have to pay for the fee! How absurd!! Bad quality, bad service, fraudulent business practice.

Be aware what they advertise. They might not give you what they advertise. The quality is not good. Calling to China is not as good as using a calling card. My friend told me to use the panda china card which never expires. There is really no need to use this company's service.

Their sales people are really good to get you on the hook. But the voice quality and service are really BAD!!!! When you want to cancel, it's very hard to get connected to them. Many times you get confused in terms of how to get it really canceled. They ask you to send your box back on your own expense and never pay you back any amount left. When one year contract expires and if you want to discontinue, they ask you to call them on an exact date they ask you, not before and not after. Otherwise they will charge you directly from your credit card. Once they got your credit card information in their system, there's no way for you to remove it from their website! The experience with them has been HORRIBLE!!!! Is there any regulator we can go to to file a complain?

The worst customer service I've talked to ever! They charge the whole month no matter when you cancel the service during the month WITHOUT letting you know. In the mean time, they stop the service right after your call and ask you to send back the equipment immediately.

If you want to buy its service based on its ad, think again. It cost me $100 in two months service to transfer a year plan to an economic one, all different untelling fees, and then, find it charges receiving calls too. So it costs comparable to cell phones. 50% times I got no-through calls and 25% with loud noise. Many times a call goes only one way, either hearing or speaking. Very funny!

I can't imagine a worse service. I've waited for porting in my phone number for six weeks. Faxed the authorization forms them three times. The customer service department even could not tell me if they received my fax. Neither did they tell me if they sent out request or not and refused to refer me to the manager. They always say they will get back to me, and never did.

iTalkBB provides great products and services. The pricing is great, the sales and service reps are very good. The product takes less than 2 minutes to set up without any help, the sound quality is excellent, the China call number works great. I would highly recommend this company and their products to everyone.

Getting my previous number ported to ItalkBB was a bit more challenging than need be, but successfully completed after several days. Initially, voice quality was extremely poor. Accompanied by poor reliability, and frequent dropped calls. Sometimes the phone would ring, but you couldn't hear the caller on the other end, though the caller could hear you. This was sometimes resolved by rebooting the router, modem, and iTalkBB box. After several calls to ITalkBB, they agreed to replace to call box with another. Since then, the system is working more reliably, with better voice quality. Customer service is average to good. You will find better response to seek a Chinese speaker, though many in the customer service department speak English. They do follow through on a good to excellent basis. Be prepared to stick to your guns and things will get done. Downsides are: 1. No voicemail 2. No call waiting 3. Voice quality sometimes poor, especially during peak bandwidth hours. Pluses: 1. Certainly free calls to China, with a free China number for family and friends. That alone makes the service unbeatable at the price. Reliability and service are slowly improving.
