I called customer service to sign up over the phone. Wanted 2 lines - 1 voice line @24.99 and a $9.99 fax line. Was promised I could transfer my current telephone number to my fax line. After hanging up, went online and saw the girl didn't even order my fax line although she told me over and over she was. After 1 1/2 hours on the phone, with 3 different people, was told what I wanted was not possible - therefore I was lied to, so I would sign up. Customer service was not helpful in resolving the issue, only saying "That is impossible" when I would explain what I wanted to do. Customer service agents also seemed to be very scripted and did not know how to respond to something that the script did not cover. Waited for my box to arrive in the mail. Prior to receiving it, I decided to NOT port my current number and to change my calling plan to a lower $14.99 one, since they could not provide the service I requested and was promised. They quoted me a $10 charge to change my calling plan, of which I had not even used yet. After dealing with countless customer service people (most of which can barely speak English), all of which were extremely unhelpful, I decided to cancel my service and send everything back. The next day, my box arrived and it was promptly shipped back. We'll see now what happens..

Customer Service is horrible. When I called to set it up, she didn't know her phone products - there are only 2. You can't understand them, either they don't have a good connection or their headsets went thru the washer (talked to 4 people)!! I called once because I couldn't find the ethernet connection, ended up I had to order one. You have to follow the directions exactly, because the 'installer' told me wrong. You are supposed to 'register' the modem, I asked twice for help, because it was being accepted and both times they said it was taken care of, It wasn't. If you need an additional handset, you have to go to a different company to order. The sound echoes.

I have had this server for almost 2 years. It had it's problems at first but they have worked out many of the bugs. There customer service needs some work as you can get different answers from each person you talk to. I wish they would expand the options or offer a 2nd line as standard, like many others are doing now.

customer service lied, people i talked to kept saying they could hear themselves, so I tried calling CS and anyone who has tried calling Vonage CS knows that you have to have plenty of patience. After about 6 month, i decided to cancel service and they asked why and then I finally got someone and they said the defaults on their end were not set and that he would reset them and call me back. he called me back and said that he could not hear himself anymore, so i did not cancel. I then called several people and all of whom said they could still hear themselves, so then I called to cancel and was given attitude and reminded that their was a cancellation fee, (i was one week short of a year) and the phone was disconnected within minutes. If only they could fix problems as quickly. I would stay far away from vonage, they have become full of themselves.

The worst customer service experience of my life. I tried 6 times to talk to them on the phone and couldn't even get the router in 20 days! If you like to deal with untrained reps overseas who are very hard to understand, then maybe you can make this work. They have great marketing and nothing else!

Worst customer service ever experienced. Sound quality ranges from okay to completely garbled. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone...it's an exercise in frustration.

I had Vonage for nearly a year and switched because the Linksys router would routinely cause internet connection problems. This was my second router and despite several service visits from my cable provider, equipment changes and firmware upgrades my cable internet service became too unreliable for me to continue with Vonage. I don't think it's entirely Vonage's fault which is why I'd recommend them.

Customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. It takes 10 minutes just to navigate through the voice prompts and when you finally get through you are talking to someone halfway around the world who isn't smart enough to know a cow is food. My Voice mail was out for 2 weeks and every time I would call some idiot would tell me it would be fixed within 24 hours and never open or log a call. Finally after 2 weeks someone logged the call, promised it would be fixed within 48 hours and never called back. When I called back the call number was invalid and nobody knew the name of the rep who I spoke to and wrote down. The funny think is when you call the sales line they pick up on the first ring and speak perfect English. There is a reason the service is so cheap.
