Horrible Customer Service. They assign you an "account manager" and you better hope that english is their first language because there is no way to get anything done through anyone else. I have asked several times to talk to someone other than my accout manager and it is not allowed. There are a few 1-800 or 1-866 numbers that you can not call out to. We have opened several tech service tickets and never gotten a call back. This is documented heavily on their forum and they won't take care of it. You better hope that someone you need to get a hold of is not one of the #s you can not call from your RingCentral phone.

Customer support lacking - pricing bait and switch

I tried RingCentral because everything I read (go look for yourself) says "month to month" or "NO contracts". Which is true until they offer you a deal on your pricing. They give you a couple of bucks off a month and then it's a year contract. Don't do it! It's worth paying the few extra bucks for a few months to figure out if it really works for you. For me, it seemed to initially. The customer support seemed really interested in helping. Unfortunately, wanting to help and being friendly and having the skills to ACTUALLY help are completely different. I should have known there was trouble when the support asked what the default mail client was on a Blackberry - Uh, Blackberry? Also, there is a language barrier. I don't have a problem with people that speak English as their second language, I applaud them. But when I'm on a deadline trying to get something done and I have to repeat myself 5 times because they can't understand me, it's too much to ask. I want support from someone who understands me the first time so I can get my issue addressed. I don't think it's too much to ask. After months of the support calling me to follow up on issues that I had submitted without actually giving me the information on how to fix them - I gave up. They seem to have good intentions and probably have an OK system. But if you don't have all the time in the world to figure it out for yourself, don't expect a lot of help from them. Go look at the recent reviews; I'm not the only one.

The features offered by RingCentral are plentiful. The issues I have are that there are TOO many options. Yes, the customer service reps have accents but it isn't anymore off putting to me than strong southern accents are. The reps are actually very friendly and knowledgeable. However, I wish I didn't have to call them so much. I've had to call often because in the process of trying to set up and customize our phone system, I realized that making changes to one thing would throw something else off. In an attempt to fix that I'd mess up or cancel out another feature. Then I'd have to call to clear everything up and start all over again, and that would be a 2 hour process!! If your tech savvy you may not have so many problems. I stick with it because I can't imagine getting the plethora of options, and quality customer service 24 hours a day at a better rate, somewhere else. I just wish they offered an option to pay extra to have a professional come out and set it up for you. I'd gladly pay for that service.

11 month NIGHTMARE

I should have ended what turned out to be an eleven month nightmare after the third or fourth month, but it's like getting a divorce. You always want to believe that things might get better, and the headache - make that MIGRAINE - of changing services might be avoided. I have a small business and phone service is VITAL to my success. From day one, the set-up was a nightmare. I even had my outsourced tech support guy here ($$$ per hour) to assist with the transition. I won't go into the details but my service has been out intermittently too many times to count, the customer support staff (outsourced in another country) are just totally ineffective and in most cases, have no idea how to fix anything. I've been overbilled twice. When you call for any issue - billing, tech support, etc. be sure to use the bathroom, get a drink, pack a lunch, and clear your calendar before placing the call because you will be spending the day with them. FOUR hour + phone calls are the norm. I finally pulled the plug after spending yet another 5.5 hours with tech support, followed by 1.5 hours with CS re billing error (which was only resolved by my promise to file a dispute with my credit card company and file a compaint with the FCC) and my phones STILL WOULD NOT RING! Finally, even to cancel your account, you are told that someone (who is always in a meeting) will have to call you back. I have many dollars invested in business cards and various marketing materials, etc with my phone number - all of which are now useless. But better to cut my losses now and find a better VOIP provider I can live with long-term. Please consider, too, the affect of poor phone service on your staff / co-workers as everyone becomes irritable - and your clients, who also become frustrated with your inability to communicate effecitvely as a reason NOT to do busines with you. But...perhaps my experience was an anomaly. Best of luck to you with this provider, should you choose to commit.

Our main RingCentral number has gone out twice. The first time took nearly 4 weeks to get it back on line. This time I'm not waiting and am canceling the service immediately. The customer service is terrible. Level 1 support send you to level 2... this person listens to the story all over again and then sends you to level 3 who you never hear from. If you need customers to call you - don't get RingCentral.

Took them 3 MONTHS to port my number over to Shaw....refused it three times because they said my service address was wrong...no wonder, they had added some address in from Quebec when I live in Calgary !! Poor call quality lately, added my home number to the account as well and when people tried calling it always rang busy. The only thing service reps can say is, " I apologize for your probem Mr. ...." They really ARE clueless.

It took 3 months to port a number in that they already had. CSR reps are clueless. To get my number transferred to my account it took me joining a webinar and complaining about it until they fixed it for me. Now it's still not 100% right, and CSR rep hung up on me...Looking for a new vendor...

It was easy to setup and easy to use. It works great and has many of the features our much more expensive system had. It even has some that our other system didn't.
