When people call and leave a voice message it is often difficult to hear and understand what they are saying when they are using a headset.

I used MagicJack and was not happy with the sound quality, but let the service play out. Then MagicJack automatically renewed without warning or permission. When I called to cancel it took multiple calls to get someone who could understand English and that I could understand. There were also dropped calls and then I was told they do not issue refunds. I am contacting my bank now.

While a cheap alternative, sound quality is often poor and if someone leaves a voicemail it is often undecipherable. Very bad sound quality.

Rating is actually a fat 0. Tried to renew my subscription as I do every year online but this year a message popped up stating I needed to speak with customer service. I have tried for a week now to pay by phone but keep getting passed back and forth between sales and billing departments. They both state that "we do not process payments". So since they would rather lose a customer I will take my money and go elsewhere.

I have had a magicjack for about 10 years and I have replaced it once as the old one quit. I think for the money and convenience of having a home phone that it is Awesome. I never regretted getting mine, the cost for the year was what I had paid monthly with ATT. So I saved 11 months payment and got 1 free year when I first bought my magicjack and another 6 months free with my second one. I am very pleased with it and have suggested it many times to people.

The Customer Support for MagicJack is almost non existing. Every time I tried to contact THEM, they send me to 'JUST ASK', JUST ASK send me back to them. In order to get something resolved with JUST ASK they want $40.00... really? I have several local numbers that will NOT connect from the MagicJack, yet I could use my cell phone or any other phone and it would. I also could not call an 800 number it said I needed an area code to complete the number. Also callers said the phone was very "crackly". I believe it may have been a mistake to discontinue my service I had for my entire life with no problems but the PRICE. Sometimes you need to pay the price.

I paid for several years of service for 3 lines, about a year ago, I had 3 devices and 3 separate numbers, which they put into 2 different accounts and told me that their system wasn't capable of merging the 2 accounts once the device was registered, anyway the IDIOTS charged me for the 3 lines for 10+3 years then they disconnected 2 of my lines. I have been trying to get this resolved since last February and still nothing.

MagicJack says it has Caller ID. That is true in that it shows you the phone number of the caller. It does NOT show you the name of the caller, they call that name-id or CNAM. This is absurd! How can you not show names? This is not 1974! Also, when someone hangs up on you, you here a beep, beep, beep noise. Very annoying.

I have used magicjack for years and had very little trouble with it, and when I did they fixed it right away. I love it, it fits my needs very well.

A former employee set up a MagicJack phone, which he used until he left the company. He set it up using his COMPANY email address and paid via COMPANY credit card. Our company is NOT able to cancel this phone number (we didn't want a refund, we just wanted to cancel/end this phone number, and MagicJack refused). They reported that he "former employee" must cancel it, even though it was a company line set up for company use by a company employee. Very frustrating, and so illogical. After much time on the phone with customer service and never able to cancel the line I finally learned on my own (by searching the website) how to forward the phone line. Customer Service was nice/pleasant, but unhelpful. She wouldn't even inform me how to forward the calls. It was strange. I suggest avoiding MagicJack.
