Reviewers Comments: I've had ITP for exactly one year now. Start up was very quick and setup was easy. In addition to
their monthly charge they also tack on a $1.99 E911 fee, which I was ok with. Then they also tack
on a "line charge" of $1.99. This isn't really made clear up front but it was still cheaper than
traditional phone service. Phone quality was mostly good. Other problems included when trying
to answer the phone, I hear a busy tone and the caller gets some weird "out of service" message.
Doesn't happen all the time but frequently. The phone also rings when deleting messages
through the web.
Despite relatively good phone service I'm cancelling due to what I perceive to be deceptive
billing practices. When signing up they automatically included Calling Card and Toll Free features
for "FREE". I then started noticing charges of $4.99 for the toll free number, but the calling card
was still free. They told me "promotional features" only last for 6 months. There was no indication
that these were promotional features, and even if it was the case, why not charge for the other
"free" feature? I notice now calling card is still offered free but toll free isn't. I suspect they
changed their policy after losing money on the toll free. I don't believe it was intended to be
"promotional" as they claim. Tacking something onto my account that I never wanted and never
used then charging it for me later and refusing to refund me is a deal breaker for me. If it wasn't
for that I would stay with them. So, for new users, beware any "free" features. |
