I had a Verizon (land line) and was paying $60 a month. I finally got wise and decided to try voip service again. I had used 8x8 several years ago but was not happy with the service. Can?t remember why. I did a lot of research before selecting VOIPO. One of the main reasons I selected them was not only were they one of cheapest but, if you decide to drop their service, they will refund your money for the months you don't use. Most other voip services I found didn't offer a refund for unused months. I ordered a promotion for $186 for 2 yrs which includes all taxes and fees. I even found a coupon code that gave me a free extra month. That works out to $7.44/mo for everything! I really like their website. You have a lot of control over your phone service. Including, being able to forward you phone to a mobile phone if you?re are not home. One of my favorite features is ?black? listing those pesky calls from telemarketers or people asking for money. Voicemail is delivered to your email as a wav file so you can listen to it on your computer. But dialing 123 puts makes it easy to access it from your phone. The support has been good. It?s even US based, so there?s no language barrier. Thank goodness! Even though they have limited support hours, I was able to get someone on a chat session very quickly every time I needed. I had some initial issues with my service as I?ve seen in some other reviews. But I believe that was because I put the voipo unit behind my wireless router. It took some tweaking to get everything working. But the Voipo support folks worked with me until everything was resolved. I rarely have issues now. Everything worked fine when I attached the voip unit directly to my cable modem. I just didn?t want my internet connection going through the Voipo unit. Transferring my home number from Verizon took some time, but that was mostly because of Verizon. Voipo?s correspondence during that time was very good. They gave me a temp number while my home number was being transferred. You can't fax unless you purchase a separate line. Voipo does allow you to fax from their web site, but you have to scan you document first and save it as a file. Then you can only attach one document at a time. Since I don't fax much, this is not a big issue for me. Overall, for the price I paid, the service has been very good and I?m happy with them. My only real concern is with all the new voip companies springing up, will Voipo be able to stay in business. But since they are basically HostGator and offer other services besides voip, I?m hoping that provides some stability to the company.

Hooked up Grand Stream HT502 behind DIR-655 router, plugged in 2 RJ11 connections, and it worked without any issues. Took 2 business days to receiving HT502 ATA. Porting AT&T POTS took about a week. Total cost for 2 years was $165 including Tax/Fees. Quantizing distortion seems slightly more than POTS but still more than acceptable.

There are some drawbacks to VOIPO that are an unpleasant surprise. For example, if you and a relative are both on VOIPO, some of the features simply won't work. Call forwarding: if my relative on Voipo calls my home, it will not forward to my cell. ALL other calls will forward. Pretty stupid drawback in my opinion. This is true for other features as well. VOIPO should document this on their website for full disclosure before taking your money. There are times that outside callers on mobile phones cannot get through to my home number; this NEVER happened with Vonage. You cannot send a fax through VOIPO, so using this as the primary line for home based business is a bad idea. You can fax a document by uploading it to their fax server, but unless you have the ability to scan a document into a PDF or Word format, you're screwed. Vonage NEVER gave me a problem with a fax once I learned to have the fax turn off error correcting mode. For straight home service, great value and good quality and good support. For home office, please look elsewhere.

Best move I have made regarding phone service.I was with Vonage for several years and had the 14.99 plan as I don't use the phone much. Then they increased the cost to 17.99 a month and then to 19.99 amonth.I then started to have problems reaching a couple of tel.numbers and had to call support.Their english was poor and had a heck of a time resolving the problem..I deceided to swith to Voipo and so far no complaints

Previously had Quest/century link VOIP and was very happy with quality although it was expensive. Century link discontinued residential voip and after reading all the reviews online I was very hesitant to select another provider. I finally decided on VOIPO. I ordered the unit online after asking a few questions to the us based support dept. Received equipment in 3 days. Pluged the internet into the box, plugged the phone line into the other side, picked up the phone 10 seconds later and it has worked great ever since! After reading all the reviews online I did not expect it to be so easy! I think many people have internet connection problems and blame it on Voip.

I have thought about pulling the plug on my AT&T landline for months. After reviewing various options including PhonePower, Ooma, Vonage, etc. I decided to go with VOIPo. This is my first experience with VOIP so I was a little uncertain as to what to expect. I have to say without a doubt I was surprised at the voice quality and clarity. To me the sound comparison between VOIPo and AT&T would be like comparing HDTV to a 20 year old analog tv with rabbit ears. There has been absolutely no delay in either outbound calls or inbound calls. The voicemail program is great in that it will forward any voicemails to my e-mail so that I can get them while away from the house. I didn't rate the reliability as I have only had them for about a week. I will update this review as time passes. I'm still waiting for my number to port from AT&T. That will take two weeks because of AT&T, not VOIPo. My one contact with customer service was handled very quickly (I couldn't get the time zone on my caller id to change to my current time zone). At this point, I am extremely satisfied with VOIPo and would recommend them.

Night and day compared to "The New Magicjack Plus". Sound quality perfect, only delay was porting my phone number to Voipo (used Google Voice previously). They want a bill or other documentation. I had paid google to "unlock" my number and sent them the receipt and that seemed to be sufficient. Blocking features are fantastic. I receive a ton of calls from telemarketers and with their features know I can now control this. In the past, I also had 3Jam which is going out of business and I was not able to renew my service with them. This service is better and customer service response fantastic. The only oddity so far was when I was testing my service calling my "temporary" Voipo number, forwarding it to my Magicjack number one call reported 361 mins. There were several calls after doing this test using the same scenario so there is no possibility that I did not disconnect the call on my end. Even though the service is advertised as unlimited, the acceptable use threshold is 5000 minutes. Response to my ticket was basically "make sure you disconnect completely"???

One of the cheapest options around with tons of features included. The setup can be confusing to someone who is not technically astute, but if you have problems setting it up, they have great customer service to help you.
