I use to have AT&T and they had many more features than
Comcast and they had better
customer service at a much cheaper price of $29.00! I changed because Comcast offered me a
deal... not all that glitters is gold! Comcast has no features for the price of $40.31 that
they charge. And their voice mail has to be played over the internet and you can not delete
more than one voice mail at a time!
Nice idea, but not perfected yet. Technician had to come out two times within 7 days to make
adjustments on the outside cable line. Quality varied from day to day pending thunder storms
and such. Often times one person could not hear, or quality was distorted. Overall service not
dependable.
I went online to put in a order which set up everything except date to install. Talk to two
customer service reps both were rude and kept you on hold for a very long time not even
coming back to the phone to apologize. They sound like they just rolled out of the bed, talk
over you while you are trying to tell them what YOU want to spend your money on. I
requested to speak to a supervisor was told none was available and would give me a call
back. Someone called back not a supervisor she said a escalated rep. The way she sounded I
felt like what was the point three days later trying to explain Comcast 's RUDE
EMPLOYEES. If they have any concern for their customers they need to take care of their
customers and stop allowing their employees to provide horrible customer service. COMCAST
IS A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY.
Sometimes 'You get what you pay for." I believe this is the case with internet phone
services. Comcast is more expensive, but how important are YOUR calls? Most of mine are
business. I cannot afford to get less service than the best. I can send faxes via my home
phone (internet), service and they are received. Many times I try sending faxes to people who
have the 'other' phone company service, and the faxes do not get through. I get
feedback "Bad or Poor Line Connection" or something else meaning the same thing. Vonage
will recommend you getting another phone line strictly for faxes. Why spend the extra
money? Just give quality service on my FIRST line! Comcast Customer Service is better and
faster. You don't have to wait 20-30 minutes, (or more on the line- On Hold), waiting for
someone to answer your call and fix the problem. That being said, Vonage has been in the
news settling several litigation-lawsuits. Maybe, they can now focus on improving their
service.
I had to switch since SunRocket took a dump on its customers - which really sucked because
I had I more or less had a good experience. I am not happy with the Comcast service due to
their lack of poor customer service. Since when does a technician have to come out with a
new modem to port a number? I am not able to access any of my features via their online
service despite many telephone calls. I have been getting tons of solicitation calls
although I did not give out the transitional telephone number. And this is in addition to
my request for an unlisted telephone number! Also, since I am an existing Comcast
customer, they would not extend the whole $99 deal to me, I could only get the phone
service for $33, but my internet and cable rates remain the same ($142/per month for
digital cable with HBO and internet). I think the $33 per month is kinda expensive when in
comparison, Vonage, Lingo, etc charge roughly $25 per month for the same service and many
more features.
Within 24 hours my number was being called by VARIOUS agencies including FOP, unknown
callers and "Summitt Corp." which is a vacation scam company. Comcast
refuses to admit selling my number but I have yet to give it out, AND they know the name that
was on our sign up form with comcast. I HATE COMCAST!!!
I was on SunRocket for over 2 years. Overall, SunRocket service is a BARGAIN|! especially
compared to SBC nee AT&T, who quoted me $7.00 per month for caller ID ALONE! Yes,
there were occasional problems with sound quality. Most of them were likely due to my ISP
RoadRunner/Earthlink(cable) then Comcast. These problems were almost always solved by
simply hanging up, then pressing last number redial.
I changed from SunRocket to Comcast because Comcast offered me a deal...Digital phone,
digital cable (which I already had) and high speed internet (which I already had) for $99 per
month for the first year. This worked out to ~$2.00 per month for digital phone = too good of a
deal to pass up, IMHO! So I changed from SunRocket. This change went unbelievably
smoothly, because SunRocket has a no GOTCHA policy. They credited my credit card for
11 months of service, routinely.
Comparing Comcast and SunRocket, SunRocket has many more features than Comcast, but
Comcast may have a slight edge in quality of service.
At the end of my $24.00 year with Comcast, I plan to go back to sunrocket (unless Comcast
makes me another offer I can't refuse!!)
This service is a rip off. Their customer service has no clue what they are talking about. Every
thing is good on the one year 99$ promotion. After that the rate jacks up. Their website says that the ongoing rate after promotion is 120/month for all 3 services. However thats not true. they charged me 146$. I have called their customer service over ten time. 3/10 I asked to talk to a supervisor. Their reps told me that their supervisor is not available and some one will call me back. NEVER HEARD BACK. This company needs a serious competition and I can wait to have FIOS available in my area. DONT GO FOR THIS SERVICE AT ANY COST. NOT WORTH IT.
Extremely Expensive, 48.95 a month
Subject to price gouging, Always an increase over time. I've had poor sound quality and have had a tech out once to pad signal did not fix problem. New law passed that will allow more increases so they claim they can remain competitive, in a market where the competition already offers more features for the money. Avoid comcast voip service if you want cheap because you will not find that here!.
I have been pleasantly surprised by the reliability and sound quality
I believe it helps if you stay with one vendor (although you may not get the top savings). It is worth a few extra bucks knowing that my phone service is running on the same pipe as my internet and cable. Don't have to worry about the "wars" between vendors and who's issue is who's. So far, so good
