JustCall Review by WhichVoIP

The Company

JustCall was launched in 2016 by its parent company SaaS Labs, an Indian based company that focuses on building solutions to address business problems. JustCall is a cloud based phone system software that is targeted mainly towards support and sales teams as it allows you to make, receive and track phone calls directly from the CRM or Helpdesk tool that your team uses.

Engineering and management are located in Noida, India, while they have customer service located in the US and the Phillipines. Their website states that JustCall is trusted by over 6,000 companies as of the writing of this overview, including Dominoes, Jaguar, AIG, and Walmart.

The Good

A software based solution so it is focused on you being able to use this system anytime, anywhere, on any device, including Web, Desktop, and Mobile Apps for Android and iOS devices (iPhone/iPad).

Getting started is pretty straight forward. You can signup for service online and they state that you can be up and running in a few minutes. When you sign up you can choose a number from 70 countries or port your existing numbers over to them. Once you have selected a number you can then invite team members and assign a phone number to each team or to each team member. You can now make and receive calls using their Web, Desktop or Mobile Apps. All calls are logged and recorded automatically and you can integrate JustCall with many popular CRM tools.

CRM and Helpdesk integrations include Salesforce, Hubspot, Zapier, Pipedrive, Copper, Zoho, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Slack, Dropbox, Google Contacts and Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and many more. The benefit of these types of integrations is that you can have all your calls and text messages logged in the CRM/Helpdesk tool, as well as abilities like click to call and also logging of recorded calls. Each integration may be slightly different with respect to features available. These integrations are one of the main drivers for their focus on sales and support teams in businesses. You can also request an integration if they do not have the one you need.

JustCall is a feature rich service. We have already mentioned that you can instantly pick phone numbers from 70 countries. You can also get toll free numbers and custom numbers or port your existing numbers to them. Other features include Internet fax, SMS text messaging, caller ID, custom greetings, call blocking, time conditions, call forwarding, voicemail, ring groups, call queues, call whisper, call transfer, appointment scheduler, website click to call button, call recording, call analytics, bulk SMS, call detail records, and call notes.

JustCall offer three plans, the "Standard" plan, the "Premium" plan, and the "Enterprise" plan. Pricing is based on either monthly billing or annual billing. You will save 20% by selecting to be billed annually. Plan pricing is listed below. Note that the Enterprise plan has a minimum requirement of 100 users. Another important note is that plan pricing does not include minutes and you will be charged per minute usage, more on this below.

Plan Monthly Annually
Standard $25/user/month $20/user/month
Premium $50/user/month $40/user/month
Enterprise (100 user min) Call for pricing Call for pricing

The Standard plan includes 1 local or toll free number, call tracking, call recording, call forwarding, call and SMS analytics, call notes and ratings, call routing (ring groups), call transfer, call queue, SMS/MMS inbox, voicemail, voicemail to email, IVR, business hours (time conditions), appointment scheduler, unlimited integrations, as well as email and chat support. You also get a Chrome extension click to call button, a call button for your website, you can send/receive faxes electronically, and use their Mobile App, Desktop App and Chrome calling extension to make/receive calls.

The Premium plan includes all of the Standard plan features plus auto dialer, SMS bots, salesforce integration, API and webhook access, call monitoring, call barging, call whisper, bulk SMS campaigns, SMS automation and triggers, advanced integrations, custom workflows, post call surveys, training and onboarding, as well as priority support.

For the Enterprise plan you will need to request a quote directly from JustCall. As mentioned above it also has a minimum requirement of 100 users. It includes everything in the Standard and Premium plans plus a dedicated account manager, priority support on all channels, and bundled calling and SMS rates.

If you need additional phone numbers over and above the number of users then they start from $6 per month, and vary by country. Calling rates for the USA and Canada start at 1.5c per minute, including toll free. Calling Alaska starts at 10.35c per minute. If you are an Enterprise plan subscriber they have high volume discounts available. For SMS messaging pricing is $0.0086 per message received and $0.008625 for messages sent. These rates represent up to 160 characters as one message. If a message is, for example, 200 characters it would be charged as two SMS messages.

A help center is available online via their website. It provides a search option to quickly find what you are interested in or you can access organized categories. These include getting started guides, number porting, phone calls and texting, call analytics and monitoring, features, CRM and helpdesk integrations, auto dialer, troubleshooting, accounts and billing, SMS bot, bulk SMS, and fax. Each category has various guides and articles to help you. They also have a documentation section for their REST API and webhooks that you can access through their website. A phone number for support was not found on their website.

The Bad

The first thing to note is that plans do not include any calling minutes. The per minute rate is relatively low but you should take this into account when comparing alternatives as many providers include unlimited calling in the monthly plan rate.

This service is focused on sales and support teams that utilize desktops and mobile devices for their calling needs. There is no mention of supporting IP desk phones, so if your team still uses desk phones then this might not be the solution for you.

Based on the information on their website the Standard plan only includes email and chat support, which makes us assume that there is no phone support. This also appeared to be the case for the Premium plan. Email and chat responses may be fast but noting here in case you prefer the option to call someone for help.

The Bottom Line

  • Cloud based phone system software targeted at sales and support teams using desktop and mobile devices.
  • Standard plan is $25/user/mo when billed monthly or $20/user/mo when billed annually.
  • Premium plan is $50/$40 per user per month when billed monthly/annually respectively.
  • Enterprise plan available but requires you to contact them directly for custom pricing.
  • US/Canada calls start from 1.5c per minute and SMS texts start from $0.0086 per message.
  • Service features focused on call center functionality, with lots of CRM and Helpdesk integrations.

Overall Thoughts

JustCall have created a useful software solution targeted at modern day sales and support teams that utilize desktop and mobile device technology. They have a large selection of CRM and Helpdesk integrations but are a little on the higher side with respect to pricing. Costs will vary month to month based on call and text usage.
