Reviewers Comments:

i HAVE BEEN USING THEIR INTERNATIONAL PREPAID SERVICE FOR THE PAST 6+ YRS. LATELY THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF YOU CALL THEM WITH THE TROUBLE YOU ARE HAVING THEY ASK YOU TO CALL BACK AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS TO CHECK ON WHAT HAS BEEN DONE - CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT IN THIS DAY AND AGE........ AS IF ONE HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO. HOW ABOUT YOU CALLING BACK IN A SHORTER TURN AROUND THAN A COUPLE OF DAYS. IF ONE IS MAKING INT'L CALLS IT USUALLY IMPORTANT & URGENT. NO USE HAVING A GOOD PRODUCT IF YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. I JUST CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT AFTER 6+ YRS AND MOVED TO ANOTHER PROVIDER. EVEN WHEN I ASKED TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DID NOT AS MUCH SHOW ANY CARE ABOUT WHY A LONG TERM CUSTOMER IS ABOUT TO STOP USING THEIR SERVICE. IT WAS OH OK WILL REFUND THE BAL IN THE A/C. BYE!!!

Reviewers Comments:

I only switched to Net2Phone after SunRocket went out of business. Net2Phone offered to honor the remaining SunRocket contract at no additional cost. The service was free for me for a year so I can't say that I complained much. Net2Phone offers a lot of great features that SunRocket offered. Their website interface however is sub-par. The customer service is OK, but it doesn't take long to reach a real human being on the other end. The Sound quality is among the worst I have experienced. Often when I pick up the phone I only hear static. If I hang up and pick up repeatedly the static seem to slowly go away as you hear the dial tone in the background. Sometimes, while there is static, you cannot dial out. Same goes for receiving calls. Fortunately I have simultaneous ring enabled so that when someone calls my VOIP line, it also rings on my cell phone. So when the service is down, my cell receives the call. Who knows how many calls did not transfer? I really don't use my home line much, however the times I did try to use it, Net2phone did not perform well. I had SunRocket with the same internet service, the sound quality and performance was superb back then.

Reviewers Comments:

Customer service / support does not exist at all. Half way of using my account, it got deactivated with credits in them. When I wrote to them, they gave me the office runaround, no reply and no help. Its been months now and still nothing is done with it. Would not recommend it to anyone at all. No point having a good products but terrible customer support.

Reviewers Comments:

I needed something with easy Europe calling as I have relative in Europe. I also wanted something where I could get a local number. Net2Phone was great because they had all that. More important, they have been around for 10 years and IDT owns them. At least I trust they won't go the way of Sunrocket or Vonage.

Reviewers Comments:

The service has been completely reliable since installation, has great sound quality (uses G.711 codec by default), and all features work as advertised. I also have a toll-free number in the UK that my family can use to call me in the US. I installed the Innomedia MTA (3328-2R) as recommended, that is between my cable modem and my Linksys wireless router. However, I soon found that the downstream LAN port on the MTA basically killed the available internet bandwidth when on a call. After researching the MTA (Innomedia web-site documentation), and poking around the MTA's settings using Telnet, I determined the MTA has a bandwidth limiting parameter that was aggressively throttling available LAN bandwidth. While I could change this setting locally, it was reset from Net2Phone's provisioning servers every 24 hours. I therefore requested Net2Phone's network support to disable this parameter. They did this within 48 hours. Now I have consistently great call quality (US, Canada, UK, and Sweden) and no measurable affect on internet bandwidth. (Note: My cable internet service gives me 4 Mb down / 384 Kb up - a call using G.711 codec seems to need about 80-90 Kb in each direction). Technical support from Net2Phone has generally been acceptable, but occasionally they have taken 3-4 days to respond to questions. After a month of use, I transferred my phone number from SBC/AT&T to this service. This took approximately 10 days and went without a hitch. All in all, great service, great features, great price ($21 / month, including the UK toll-free number). Recommended.
