Exactly what kind of SIM card do I need to port a landline to GV? Activated and prepaid? I have at&t landline, so do I need to use an at&t card or will t mobile also work?

-> Response: Google voice allows you to port wireless numbers but if you have a landline this will likely not work unless it is ported to AT&T wireless first. Probably worth asking AT&T if that is possible. Google voice has a number port tool you can use to validate what you are trying to do.

Wanting to port my home phone number to Google Voice. It is not a land line but a verizon fixed wireless terminal device. I understand i can port a mobile number to GV for a $20 fee. My question is the fixed wireless terminal considered a mobile number? I started the process and GV indicated it would transfer. I was afraid to continue for concern I would lose this long standing home number. I have a mobile phone number as well on my Verizon account. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

-> Response: For the fixed wireless device, is it LTE based? If so I think this would be considered wireless and thus a mobile number. You may need to ask Verizon what will happen here. I know GV indicates that when you transfer a wireless number your wireless account will close. However you have another wireless number too it seems, so may be fine here and likely the a/c will stay open.
If GV runs into problems with the port they normally email you to let you know.
