Not only has it taken months for Zingotel to get our service working, but they are impossible
to reach on the phone when you need help. We're a small office, it should have been fairly
easy. Vonage at home was a piece of cake. Zingotel at work has been a nightmare of
incompetence, delays and mistakes since April (it is now August). Not once have the offered
to compensate us for the inconvenience or the fact that I've had to deal with two phone
systems in my office while I wait for them to get their act together.
The latest irritation: They screwed up rolling over our previous number to the new service so
now when people call the old number, they get a fast busy...unless they are a Zingotel
customer. For days now I've been getting emails and cell phone calls from customers and
vendors that my phone doesn't work. I wonder what my prospects do? Oh, right. They go
somewhere else.
The message to us is clear: we're a small office with 10 handsets so we must not be
important to Zingotel. I kept telling myself it would get better, but it hasn't. I feel stuck since
I'm not sure I can afford another six months with another VOIP provider. Has anyone out
there had a good and fast experience with a VOIP provider? If so, please email me:
cynthia@promotesuccesspr.com.
In the off chance that Zingotel is actually monitoring the Internet for feedback, I invite them to
call me, their very unhappy customer at Promote Success...you know, the one whose phone
doesn't work.
I sign up and finished my 11 months with company keeping in mind that the value for the
plan I am paying is really reasonable, suddenly they charge me a $105 and sends a email
that they upgrade my residential unlimited US & Canada to business and they start charging
for every local call per minute as well as a long distance. Try a lot to solve but finally
give up and cancel my a/c which take more than 3 weeks to cancel
Zingotel started off really good, but at one point I stopped being able to reliably make or
receive calls. At that point after logging into my account I noticed that they had bumped
my bill up to 50.90 per month. The only explanation they will offer is
"As per records we observed that your telephone account has exhibited certain usage
patterns which flag it as being for other than residential purpose"
The promised rate of 15.90/month had disappeared 3 months ago and they had been charging my
c/c the new rate ever since. This despite the fact I can view my logs and you will notice
right away that my wife who uses the phone only calls other residential phones. Most
notably our own home phone number. She lives in another province because of her job and we
thought the rate they were offering was really great.
It's impossible to actually speak with a person at the company and they will only send me
emails with the above blurb.
Very highly NOT recommended
Never received equipment and still charging me monthly. Poor customer service based in
INDIA! You cannot understand them and they promise everything and deliver NOTHING. This
is a SCAM!!! Do NOT use Zingotel as they are going out.
Zingotel is does NOT provide reliable service in any regard. The service was always having
problems. I could not dial out many times, some phones numbers I was never able to call
from the Zingotel phone, many times I would not know the inbound calls weren't working
either until some of the MANY clients that tried to get through and couldn't sent me e-mails or
told me so when I contacted them.
After I initially set up the service I could never get any one on the phone, I left numerous
messages and no one EVER returned my calls, they just kept billing me.
They also added some mysterious TAX a few months after I had the service.
Bottom line they SUCK!
Zingo Sux. This is not to humiliate zingotel, I just wanna let people who are planning to sign
up for zingo know the truth. You will always be charged even though you sign up for unlimited
and for taxes that are unheard of. On canceling you are charged $40.00 and $8.00 for an
ethernet cable (market price $2.00) this makes me laugh. Customer service is another laugh,
I do believe they wanna help but it's just that they don't know how. Just don't sign up with
zingo. I'm just being a good citizen. Zingo, please don't take it personally, it's only fare to let
others know that, you didn't refund even after a month and a week of no service.
Beware of this. Pricing: At first they offer a good price, but don't expect it to be fixed. After 4
month or so they started charging me taxes that "were not" originally included, so the price
went up which made the whole price saving go away. So the value for the money is -50.
WebSite: At the time I signed up with them it was not helpful at all. Even now if you navigate
all the links you will see missing pages, etc.
Installation: Another PIA, but better then rest of service. They send an adapter and you install
it just fine in front of the router, if you try it on the back of the router it doesn't work ( I tried
their suggested routers). Their technical support cannot answer any questions other than
suggest plug it out/plug it back in. I had an issue with blocking the calls (*67 or similar) over 5
months!!! and each techie was giving me different suggestions including differe prefixes
(*67,*17, *69, etc). Then after hours on the phone they would say "Oh we just changed the
setting in your gizmo and it will work in 24hrs". And of course it never did. SCAM
Cancellation: I've switched to SunRocket (much better) and try to cancel out. Send them an
equipment, they claim "they never got it." So they don't cancel your account , but terminate it
for non-payment and continue charging and send billing e-mails even though I contacted them
many times.
Customer Service: Major SCAM!!!! Call them and there is never a person. Neither residential
nor business, --- leave a message which never gets returned!!! They will send you an e-mail.
You ask for a real person and no-answer. All of the issues are being "handled" over the e-
mail.
Conclusion: BEWARE of the issues above. This is a waste of your time. Besides there are
other companies that offer slightly higher rates with much better CS, TS, and quality. ZingoTel
was unable to fix any of the problems I had with poor quality, unreliable service, non-working
features, unresponsive CS, not-knowledgeable technical service.
hi
be careful from Zingotel, the service was tolerable and i am keep going it because it is
cheaper for me as Canadian but suddenly Zingotel did a Magic to my plan and upgraded from
Residential to Business automatic and also start charging per minute call as well . what
ever the call was l even all local per minute. Try to contact through phone they keep you on
holding and finally a message (leave a message and some one will contact you shortly) but I
never get a call from Zingotel or they never pick up my phone.
Some time by mistake if some one pick up the phone he do not know what you talking about.
Than I come to know that the guy was responding to me on behalf of zingotel was from
India.
they have a call office in India and they know nothing about the company any way i just
cancel the account with Zingotel and dispute the over charges the put on my card which is
more than $200. Be care full from Zingotel can be bite any time
Bar none, ZingoTel is the worst telecommunications provider I've ever dealt with--and for
those of you who have experienced the often poor service of telecom providers, you know that's really saying something. Aside from the fact that Zingo is easy to set up, the service stinks. Voice quality is simply awful, even with a super-fast cable connection (benchmarked at 4-5 mps). Dropped calls are common. Voice mails disappear and then reappear. I hoped that forwarding the number would help, and that at least then I'd be able to hear from people who called me on the number. No such luck--it's even worse that way. As others have noted, customer service is non-existent. Zingo gets an F. Stay away from them.
Well I'm not going to repeat too much of what everyone has posted, but the service with
Zingotel is HORRIBLE!! I honestly can't see how anyone can have given them a good rating. I've had this service for a year, and the first 3 months weren't bad actually. Drop calls on occasion, but nothing too bad...to bad this was short lived. I started getting dropped calls all the time, if I called the voicemail service from an outside line, there was no indication of a message, but if I checked the voicemail from the home phone, I did have messages, the timestamp was incorrect, and I called a number of times to have it corrected, and pretty much the phone was useless, because I was getting so many drop calls, and sometimes my phone wouldn't even ring. Like everyone has stated, getting a hold of customer service, just forget about that...no one answers my emails, I'm getting charged even after I ported my number to another provider...Please safe yourself the trouble, do not use Zingotel voip services. If you are experiencing trouble with Zingotel, cancel the service or try to...but good luck getting a hold of them to do so, and call your credit card company and dispute the charges.....because Zingotel isn't holding up their end of the agreement....the customers pays for a service, and if Zingotel isn't providing that service, then they can't charge you!
This company is a SCAM!
I originally purchased Zingotel through a local (reputable) computer store in October 2006. I
don't think the store knew what they were in for. They give the customers a modem and
registered you on-line.
I have had the worst customer service experience with Zingotel, ever!
For the first 30 days I tried to call tech support but kept ending up in a circular loop on the
digital directory. I never did actually spoke to anyone. My e-mails either didn't reach them or
were bounced back.
I had serious connection problems with the modem. Busy signals, dropped attempts and was
successful in making just 1 phone call in 30 days.
My attempts after 30 days were to simply call and cancel. Clearly this wasn't working. In
January they billed me the monthly fee of $24.95 and an additional $24.95 for something
called a setup fee, you might call it a spontaneous charge.
In January, at some point I got through to their answering machine and left several messages
over the course of a week. I did not get a response. I began to send e-mails threatening legal
action if they didn't cancel my "service" immediately. On February 9th they sent me an RMA
number which I didn't clue in was the cancellation of my account. A few days later, they sent
me an e-mail claiming my account was cancelled. I thought finally. Then they decided to
charge me for February as well, an additional $24.95 to my Credit Card.
I just received my March Credit Card statement and discovered a new charge of $49.95. I called
to FT. Lauderdale and actually got through to someone in the billing department. This was the
first time in nearly six month I was able to speak to a human being.
She told me that the $49.95 charge was a cancellation fee and that I should have read the
agreement before I accepted. I said, I didn't read an agreement because I was signed through
a local computer store. They did mention it.
Next, she said I have to return the modem or I will be charged an additional $99.95. I'm like
what? Well, I sent back the modem yesterday and it cost me an additional $21.38 to send it
by ground.
She also told me that when they receive the modem they will charge me an additional $9.95
for something like a restocking fee. I told her they better not charge me for that.
I can only say, DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. It was a huge mistake.
I have heard a lot of people out there with negative comments on Zingotel, but my experience
is far from what they have to say. I have been with them for over 6 months and have had very little problems with them. Sound quality is good. I've never had calls cut off during a conversation. As far as their customer service goes email is the best way to get hold of them. Its always best to leave ONE email as opposed to people leaving several. In all cases my problem was resolved in less than 5 working days. I've never had a service disruption to date. I believe that this a solid company and people do not give it the credit it deserves. For the price out there you cannot beat Zingo's Bang for the Buck. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an additional phone to supplement their primary phone.
Where to start...First I ordered service from Zingotel over the web and got an email that said 3 -
5 business days until my account will be setup. I was fine with that but however on day 6 I still did not have an account so I placed a trouble ticket on their website. After another day of no hearing from Zingotel I called and tried to reach a representative. It took 3 tries calling and choosing option 1 to get someone. After I got someone on the line and explained my problem I was then placed on hold for about 15 minutes. She ended up calling me back and put me on the phone with another customer service representative that could help. He told me that the reason my account had not been set up is because they needed my approval to run my credit card (Why not call me then???). So I gave my approval and waited another 2 days...so I
end up calling again to find out why I have not received a number nor login information. The excuse this time was that a number in the call center I wanted was not available and I had to choose another number. I had them pick from another nearby calling center. I did get an email with my phone number but no password to login. Finally I emailed several times to get this information and never got a response. I then tried calling and can not get through to a customer service representative. After an hour of calling I got someone who told me what my password was supposed to be...Well wouldn't you have it, it does not work...imagine that...since then I have sent several other emails and tried calling. Every time I call I either get someone to pick up and then place me on hold (Definitely is not a IVR queue) or I get the voicemail message. I am fed up this company is horrible. I ended up sending a nasty email and leaving a nasty voicemail stating that I better not be charged a setup fee because I was never actually setup to work. I do not recommend this company STAY AWAY!!!!
Don't subscribe to Zingotel. Not only is the service only fair but their customer service is nonexistent. They do not answer their phone but a recording tells you to leave your
number and they will return your call which they never do. I disconnected because of a billing error, notified them by email and returned the voip box by priority mail. I had always paid my bill manually each month either by credit card or debit card. After I disconnected I received a notice that I had been switched to credit card auto pay and they billed my credit card. I closed the credit card account and then the following month they charged my debit card a monthly bill plus a $39.99 disconnect fee. No one in all this time would respond to me. The original billing error (they double billed me) was never corrected. Stay away from this company.
OK so I posted back on Jan.07 to this group citing my really bad experience with ZingoTel. I am adding to this thread. After two months of fighting back and forth via email, phone and letters, I am finally free of ZingoTel! I
was able through the Better Business Bureau of Southern Florida, to get the phone numbers of officials in the company and thus actually get some action. I filed 3 complaints against them. Even after canceling in January, returning the modems with a tracking number and porting my numbers to Charter (my new carrier), ZingoTel continued to automatically bill me credit card. I was finally able to get those charges reversed and as of March 9, 2007, I am Zingo Free!! Whoo Hooo!!! DO NOT EVER GET INTO THIS MESS. Get any other VOIP service OTHER THAN ZingoTel and avoid what many of us have already suffered .... they are a nightmare!
All I have to say is that unless you want to be ripped off, DON'T use Zingotel. The customer service is rancid. The only time I could get hold of someone with the numerous problems I had , was to call the sales line. They will
answer that. Here's a list of some more of my woes: I usually have one to two dropped calls a day. Forget sending an e-mail, you'll never get a response back. I went through 3 routers in six months. My voicemail worked on and off and never on my second line. I paid for the fax line and it only connected 3% of the time. I also suspect that there maybe some fraud on Credit Card account. When I call someone else, their caller ID shows someone else's name. I asked them to change it, but never happened. If I called my wife's cell phone she hears an echo all of the time. How these guys stay in business is beyond belief. Stay away. I just hope by writing this I can save someone else the aggravation I went through. Needless to say I'm switching as fast as I can.
This has got to be the worst company I have ever
dealt with period. I went to them for the competitive price but man, did it cost me. First of all you can never reach them by phone. It always goes to voice mail and they never return your call. Secondly the had the worst call quality and there is nothing you can do about it. They blame it on everybody but themselves. When I tried porting my number over, they gave me the hardest time. Now, the "slammed" the number back. I have to fight with them to get it back again. Trust me! I never spend time writing reviews, let alone negative ones, but do not go to them you will most definitely regret it. AVOID THIS COMPANY! It's worth paying more and go with a more reputable company. I use Vonage now ...very good company.
Never give your credit card number to this company. They play a trick by starting with low
charge and slowly they start deducting more and more money from your account and when you call Customer service there is always no response. They cheat a lot . Beware of this company
