I switched from another VoIP provider to VYLmedia. Saving money was one issue but having a reliable connection for my home business and tech support that is available is what I need to grow my accounting business. VYLmedia customer service is just the answer for me. It doesn't matter whether I call at 8 am or 9pm, support is available. Granted, I do have to wait on hold longer than I like when calling but I guess I must hit "rush hour" when I call. What I like is that the person on the other end switched my features like I like and I didn't have to be transferred or get a manager's approval. I like that. It's such a better world now that I switched to VYLmedia.

Wow! Canadaian User. Use VOIP for corporate rentals. Chose VYL because they appear to have their stuff together. I prepay for a year at a time. Been with VYL for over 2 years now. Last year they actually "lost" my number, and the phone was cut off for 6 months after I had paid for my year. Never got a refund until almost a year later. It seems customer service, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and Technical service have never communicated to eachother...ever. I have had several phone conversations, and now many of them backed up by email, and I am still having problems with this company. First... they told me they have a signed document requesting them to port my number to another company, but they cannot produce or show me this document which I allegedly signed because it is against some crazy law in america. Then they told me they chad retrieved my number...all in the same conversation. Hmmm... Although very apologetic sounding, they got my number back on line finally and did not issue me a refund for the outage. I finally was told I got one, and it was backed up with an email. Nothing extra for all of the trouble and time I had spent emailing, gathering records, and phoning. I used the refund credit and paid the remaining amount for another year. Less than a month later I have since received threatening emails saying my phone is going to be cut off for a delinquent account. 11 phone coversations with 7 different people, and 14 emails. The SAVINGS ARE NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE of trying to keep your phone working continuously. I do not recommend this company, and like the other guy from Dec 6 2011 says. I highly suspect it is the owner and management. Streamline your company man and get your Accounting Systems Matrixed. Pay the extra $800.00 per year you cheapskate, or it's going to kill your business.

I have had service with VYL for over 5 years now. Their customer service has always been great! Calling within the US and Canada is always reliable. Most of my overseas calls are to Korea and it is reliable 97-99 percent of the time. There have been about 7 times over the past 5 years when a call to Korea got dropped or the it would not call the phone in Korea at all (Note I call Korea almost every other day for about a hour or two at a time). At these times customer service has been very helpful determining what the issue was (usually outside of their control) and working to get it resolved as quickly as possible. Also, found out today, talking with customer service, that I can use a Bria app for Apple or Android and make a call using VYL service from my smartphone; just like you can with Vonage. Customer service provided all the settings I needed and it was easy to set up; app has a one time charge of $7.99. All in all based on my considerable time receiving service from VYL I recommend their service to others.

Pros If it were NOT for the quasi Owner, this company would be exceptional. Cons The owner. He is unable to take constructive feedback regarding his staff and when his technology FAILS! Was a customer with VYL Media from December 2006 to mid 2009. Left because the owner instructed his employees to be rude to me because I was complaining about call termination issues, perpetual outages, and extremely rude personnel. Today, Tuesday, December 6th 2011, almost exactly five years since I signed up I receive an Email asking me to PLEASE come back. At first I ignored the Email. Then I got a Follow- Up Email. Decided to act on it because of the nice sales pitch on the ad in my Email. Got Sales on the phone and they were pleasant enough. Told him about the history with VYL Media and asked him if all had improved and if owner is gone? He informed me that things were somewhat better. I told him I would seriously consider his company again as long as the owner would have ZERO contact with my account. Unceremoniously, I receive a Call-Back from the owner and he lit into me. He told me unequivocally that he was not ever interested in having me as a customer and to go elsewhere with my business. All the BEST in securing the BEST VoIP service for your needs!!!

Reviewers Comments:

I left Vonage due to service and went to VYL. It is now over 2 years, they started out fine, but then the quality here on the West Coast was spotty! Their customer service and tech support has central time hours and spotty emergency service. Last September, I was not able to dial certain numbers which I had dialed the day before. The numbers varied per day. It was a routing issue from 1-Voip [never got an answer as to why this was happening]. They did tell me to upgrade to their new system, free of charge, but I would lose any voice mails saved on my current account. I needed to find a way to save the messages [some sentimental] - they offered NO suggestions. After constant calls to tech support and a new modem/box from 1-voip, a tech suggested they could set up a 1-voip account and transport my numbers until I could find a way to save my voice mails. THIS WAS GREAT .. but only after 6 months and over 45 calls to tech support. They sent me the new software and box and the quality was astounding compared to the old system. A big plus for me. However, the new system lost some features such as wake up call, still cannot have PST time on calls. Also, the caller id did not work for the first few months. I found that I could record the voice mails and load them onto my computer via a mini recorder and software. Yeah! I told them about it and they transported my numbers to the new account and number. I was to copy the voice mails in the next week. Voila, they cancelled the old number and ALL the voice mails were erased..they cannot retrieve them or the cost was too much on their end. [technology is there folks!]. ALL customer service could do was..SORRY... I got a free month while they corrected the caller id. Funny, while not being able to call numbers for over 6 months, I got NADA or we are sorry. Just an issue they were working on. Again, a 1-VOIP problem, yet I the customer was inconvenienced. LOL!! I then got a bill with the wrong number [correct address] which was not mine. I asked for a corrected bill and was told WE CANNOT REISSUE A BILL...hmmm. and on my website, under billing I get an error message wrong account and password, yet I can access ALL other areas, voice mail, call records, etc. Hmmm! Then, 1-VOIP suspended my account for nonpayment! I called and asked for a corrected bill and explanation so that I can pay and send a letter to them and Better Business. I was to receive it within a few minutes per customer service manager. Now, an hour later and StILL no invoice nor service. Amazed at the horrible customer service and spotty tech support. Am going elsewhere for service!! BEWARE!

Reviewers Comments:

I signed up when they were VOIPyourlife, and originally everything was very good. But there have been numerous problems for quite some time now: not being able to connect with either no ring tone at all or a fast busy signal, or the other person not being able to hear me, static in line, voice quality so abysmal that even a half-decent conversation is not possible, and the list goes on. I have written and phoned in complaints so often, my file should be a yard thick by now. I have noticed a pattern, in that the problems seem to be prominent in approximately 2 months cycles. We are in the midst of a non-performing cycle right now. I am experiencing massive problems. Originally, an eMail would get an immediate response. No more. Phone support is also harder to reach and the techs are useless. The whole thing is just causing more problems then it is worth. I am very disappointed. This service has gone from a 5 star provider to a minus 5! Save yourself the aggravation. I am now faced with the search for a new provider and a new provider it will be. No more of this BS. I have had IT! Useless bunch providing something that in this day and age really should be no rocket science. IF it was all working as it was supposed it WOULD be very good, I like the features (when they are working, which has also been hit and miss in the past such as the find-me-follow-me not working, meaning that my cell does not ring when I leave the house even though it is set up to, the do not disturb not working causing me to get woken up in the middle of the night by overseas callers, blocked numbers getting through anyways, the voicemail suddenly disengaging even though it is always supposed to be on, etc). I have been with them for 3 years now. Over 1 year there has been nothing but problems. There are always all sort of excuses. It is not for the lack of trying on their end, but it means nothing to me if they try and it does NOT produce the desired results. And if something seems to be fixed, sure enough a couple of months later the same problem either appears again, or a new problem does. Enough is enough. I am so frustrated. I urgently need to reach someone right now - I can hear them, they cannot hear me. What good is a phone service if it cannot even provide very basic communication. No reliability. DON'T do this to yourself. And it could be so good, if these guys would only get their friggin act together. Sad! PS - their features rating would be a 5, IF everything was working as it should. The original ordering and ease of set-up were great and would deserve a 5, same goes for the once-upon-a-time customer service. But since they are not longer providing the service of the original provider, the rating is only a 1. My message to VYL: do better, you once did, so you are capable. You just don't want to. Sad!

Don't bother. I had good luck for a long time and then everything changed. Tech support literally ignored all requests for assistance until I gave up and canceled. To top it off they won't issue a RS to return their own hardware.

VOIP Your Life worked fine until I got a new DLink router. Now I can not answer calls. I spent hours on several calls to tech support, then they finally told me there is a known problem with their phone adapter and the DLink router. I still have a Teleblend VOIP account that I use through this router. I can make calls with the VYLmedia phone, but I can't answer any calls. I am going to try another company.

For the past few months, there are numbers that I cannot call with my VYLMedia phone. After multiple service tickets and run around, they've told me "Unfortunately, we are at best route for New Hampshire, the vendor that routes these calls are out of business. At this point we are still working to find new vendors to complete these calls to but we do not have an ETA." Thus, I need a new phone provider.

Ever since we started this service...it has been sporatic. There is one person that we have had contact with in customer service/tech support that has been very helpful. Everyone else is truely questionable. The last time I called they told me that are account was cancelled. It was NOT. They do updates on their system (which brings down our system) and they don't give us any advance warning. Over all, we have been very unhappy with our experince with this company.

For two years I had Comcast's voice service along with their internet service, adn for last year and a half there were issues (the other party could not hear me for several seconds, repeatedly). I spent hours with technical support and got nowhere. These infuriating, "unsolvable" problems were resolved with VOIP Your Life!

What a breath of fresh air after trying another service provider. Voip Your Life (VYLmedia) call quality is excellent, if I have a problem or a question, someone in the US who speaks good English is always available to take my call and help me. Their tech support is excellent. The people really care. Voip saves me about $100/mo from what I paid at AT&T. I've referred them to everyone I know who owns a business. And oh yes, they ported in the 800 number I've had since the 90's, so I got it away from AT&T. The other companies wanted to sell me their number, but my old number is on all my marketing pieces, and will probably be on my tombstone, so that was very important for me.

VYL's quality is mediocre at best, and often isn't even THAT good. I've often had problems dialing a 1-800 number for another company because they don't allow my VoIP phone to go through. VYL asks for these numbers, and says they'll fix them, but that never happens. Often if I have to press a number for automatic selection when talking to an automated system, the number presses aren't recognized, and I have to call from my cell phone which costs me money. Lastly, VYL only has a few numbers in a few states to be able to check voicemails from another phone. NOT convenient! I'm not happy with the service, and in fact am cancelling it today.

I have used this service for almost 3 years, and have never experienced better price or quality anywhere. My cable company used to contact me on a regular basis asking me to switch my service and give them a try. I told them exactly what I pay with VYL media and asked them to match it. Their service representative was amazed. Even SHE suggested I keep my current service!

I love VYLmedia. Let me explain. I have been with VoipYourLife for over 2 years now, I am an American and my (now wife) is Chinese in China I decided on VYL back when I had just met my Wife, and VYL offered the best deal on international calling. therefore I was able to to call my wife at a reasonable rate on their global plan. Anytime I had an issue with the service, whether it was "hold off on the bill for a few days" or technical (I have only once had a technical issue), there is always a live person answering the phone. And I can take the phone almost anywhere that there is broadband service. Lots of features are available I haven't used them all yet but I am sure that some time in the near future I will be making more use of these other features. I love my Wife and VYLmedia helps me to always be in touch with her. Even when her visa is approved and she can come to America, We'll be Keeping VYLmedia so she can stay in touch with her family. Thanks VYL!

My household has three lines through VYLMedia we have 2 business and our home line. With the PC application integration I have used my VYLMedia lines all throughout the world. We have also used the VYLMedia phone line stacking feature to stack overseas numbers in Greece and Israel during my daughters travels saving her significant amounts of communications costs. The service has been fantstic and the customer and technical services is second to none with plenty of personal attention. I would not switch for any otehr plan!

Unequivocally the best VOIP service available. I have used numerous VOIP service providers throughout Canada and the United States, and VYLMedia is by far the best. First and foremost, their quality is bar none; I have enjoyed land-line-comparable quality and reliability ever since I started using their service in 2008. Next, their customer service and tech support are exceptional; all the staff I've talked with have been professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Lastly, their rates are fantastic; my wife frequently calls overseas and we love that we neither need to "watch the clock" during her calls. Overall, VYLMedia offers the best quality, service and rates available in a VOIP service.

I was having a problem with our phone so I had my wife call because I am visually impaired right now. When we call we had excellent customer service right from the start and they we really patient with my wife and talked her through our problem then a week or so later they called back and had some questions and with me not being able to see I couldn't help them and they were really nice about it and they called back 3 or 4 times until my wife was home and she could answer there questions. I really am impressed our phone bill went down 150 dollars to nearly nothing I tell everyone about our wonderful service.

They provide the best customer service. Every time we called for technical support or other customer support, we never had to wait or had to go through an automated system. We always received a live person, that was knowledgeable, someone you can understand and patient. Have recommended this company to several friends who have also signed up.

I was one of those users that was used by sun rocket and got used when they evaporated. In need I reached out too rating web sites and chose VYLmedia after receiving their Voip box, I followed the simple directions included from VYLmedia and have been very very happy with the service and all customer support. In over two years I can not recall one single problem. I have highly recommended this company to many who are looking to escape the land line phones and those who have complained about their Voip services. You will be happy, I know I and my family have been.

Service was lost 1 time over a year ago and they had it up in a few hours. The best customer service, hands down. Never had a price increase in 2 years! You want to judge a company? Call the customer service before you call sales! They are the best internet phone with great features and I never have to call for problems! It is priced right, works great, crystal clear, and extremly reliable, do you need anything else? They are DE BEST!

I've been using VYLMedia for a few years now, from when I was living in Louisiana and local phone service was going to be a huge expense. Their technical support department is probably the best in the business, if not one of the best in the country overall; extremely knowledgeable, understandable, and friendly. The pricing is competitive, and the billing department is top notch as well, resolving issues within minutes over the phone. The monthly statements come via email, and show you all charges up front, and their web interface shows you all the calls you've made that may cost money. Overall, this is probably my favorite tech company to do business with, and I hope they continue to grow and add features (like business plans!)

Fantastic service ... We have a home in Massachusetts and a home in Florida. We used to have to keep canceling other services or pay to keep a live line or pay to keep a telephone number. With VYLMedia we know have two permanent telephone numbers. One in Massachusetts and one in Florida. We never have to change any number and our friends and businesses just dial either number and we answer both on our single telephone. When we travel between homes we change our services to forward both numbers to our cell phone. Thanks, Jim

My husband is in the United States Air Force and we are stationed in England with our two young daughters. VOIP allows my family to call me and for me to call them when I want. They don't have to dial an international number, they pick up the phone and can call. I'm sure it makes my mom feel like I'm a little closer to home when she can ring me without dialing country codes. When you're this far from home, having a way to stay in touch with family and friends and share daily life experiences means the world. Thank you for giving me this. I have been a customer for over a year now and am very happy with VYLMedia. Initially when subscribed for the service, there were minor problems (such as echo and call clarity) and the technical service teams took care of it. The support teams are very friendly, proficient and efficient. I wish the web interface was little more sophisticated, which is a minor suggestion for improvement.

VYL is the best VOIP service on the planet. Faced with a move where my long time phone number exchange was not available, VYL made it my primary number, provided a second number free of charge and did it all in just a few days. More features that any other VOIP service, able to use overseas and make calls free to US using a free SIP service on my Iphone, Customer service that answers the first time you call and is in the US, and a price that has not changed in 3 years... makes VYL absolutely the top service in the USA.

Signed up for the service so that I could call from anywhere in the world. I have been to very small countries in Africa and call home or make other important call back home as if I were siting at home. Since day one I have tried to convince people VYL is the cheapest way to go and it is. I have talked people out of using Vonage, I have only had to contact VYL customer support 2 times in over 3 years, once when the router died, was replaced overnight mail, and when I needed to give a new card for payment. It's an American company with American support right here in the US. I can't believe people use land lines...

It used to be the sound quality was so bad that I have been forwarded all my calls to my cell. So that defeated the purpose of having a VOIP line to begin with. I have used 2 other voip providers, Vonage & Voip.com. If you are considering a different provider, DO NOT HESITATE. I got started up with VYL Media / Voip Your Life & never looked back. By Far they are the best I have used. From the first initial phone call to Allen @ VYL Media I felt like I was at home. All of the staff is friendly and sincerely want you to have a good experience. I feel like I know all of the staff on a first name basis. You can get someone on the phone usually within 1 minute if you ever have any questions or how to set anything up. I am now saving over $1200 a year, compared to my Verizon accounts. You have all of the features you will ever need & incase you forget to forward your Voip phone to your cell, just call them up on the phone & they will do it for you! I am not a sales rep for this company. I just know how frustrated I was with the other providers and how good it is now!

This is by far one of the WORSE services imaginable. Customer Service is OK, tech support is INCOMPETENT! The problem is... they simply do not have their own tech department and the BLAME everything else except their own product. I had services with VoIP Your Life, now named VYLMedia... for more than three (3) years. I was one of their original customers back in December 2006. I live through tooooooooooooooooooooo many of their horrific technical call termination problems. Countless!!! Oh my God! Once a Customer Service person told me that one of the owners told them to give me bad service because they did NOT want me as a Customer anyway. Go figure. This company simply sucks all around. HORRIFIC! Anyone who thinks this company is worth having for VoIP services is either ... not requiring much at all ... or simply have extremely low expectations and standards in a product.

I'm using Telus and I had a problem which involved really bad sound quality. I called VYLmedia support and they told me that I was having a 90% packet loss due to my internet service provider. I called Telus, informed them that I was having this loss and they were surprised because they couldn't figure out how I knew. They made some adjustments after I informed them that I was having issues and if I couldn't get these issues resolved, I would have to get another Internet Service Provider. After making some adjustments at their end, my Voip voice quality is crystal clear. I had Primus for about 5 years but getting through to support was a long process and the cost was nearly double what I'm paying now. For anyone having sound quality problems, go to your provider because I'm on Vancouver Island Canada and the quality problems were linked back to Telus.

Reasons I like VYL: Multiple registrations allowed so you can have the same phone number in more than one location. This is great if you travel for a living. Two free virtual numbers you can change any time you want. It takes only a few minutes. I have a local number to call home virtually everywhere I go in the US and Canada. I have always gotten good customer service although I haven't really needed it much. Calling plans don't have hidden catches. Service seems to always be available. it is very reliable. Sound Quality is excellent. I have tried two other voip providers, and neither one of them could come even close to measuring up to VYL.

July 2007 SunRocket goes out of business and services ceases to work. I had just paid for a 1 year subscription 3 months prior. Never saw the money. So after a lot of rigmarole I decided to move to VoipYourLife based on customer feedback & research. the Linksys SP2102 device arrived in less than 5 days and was easy to hook up. For the features offered you are getting a good deal if you look at other carriers. I have set up SIP Phones in Unix, Linux, and Windows with no issue what so ever. Wengo, XLite, SJPhone all work equally as well. However Wengo was the easiest to set up. If you have a good connection with a GOOD ROUTER to prioritize VOIP Traffic than the service works great. Customer service is always good. Now the only thing that scares me, is that now they are offering Annual Plans. To me this indicates a need for large amounts of fluid Cash to pay debts. This is the same thing SunRocket did before they went under. Maybe it is just Paranoia and Hopefully VLYMedia will be around for many years to come.

After barely escaping from Vonage with my original phone number, I was hoping (praying) that VYL would be better (although it is not possible to be WORSE than Vonage). I have been pleasantly surpirsed with VYL. The service is totally reliable and perfectly clear. I had one minor technical problem in the beginning, which was solved within 5 minutes of my first customer service call. VYL representatives are actually located in the USA so there is not language barrier. I think VYL is a godsent after suffering through the torture of Vonage. I am thrilled with the service, and the price is cheaper than Vonage too. I had to call customer service once or twice for non-technical issues, and there is NO extended hold time and they are very friendly and accommodating. Just a tip: If you want to get away from Vonage and avoid the termination fees, you should report your credit card lost or stolen. That's how I managed to get away from Vonage with my shirt still on.

Definitely should be considered when looking for a VoIP provider. VoIP Your Life is a great service. I've had two other VoIP services and out of all, only VYL has provided consistent high quality service and pricing. While you can block up to 20 numbers, I do wish I could block more telemarketer numbers and such. Also, their support is not quite as 'polished' in the customer service department as say Vonage, but I can always get the help I need and they are always friendly and maybe that's a good thing! Overall, the price and service has fit nicely into my family's needs.

Switched over after Sunrocket closed their business, and I am glad that I did. 2 extra virtual numbers are great for I have side businesses for which I can use those numbers. I did notice a slight delay, but it wasn't enough to be bothersome while I was talking. I have used it for a year now. All in all, this is a good service. I think I will stick with them.

Ordered, received and setup in less than 72 hours. I have never had a single problem with the services short of send long faxes, but from my research this is a continuing issue with all the services and you might want to consider a broadband fax machine. Highly recommend this company. Though I couldn't find their reviews on this site when I first order over 1.5 years ago they had a flawless track record and have lived up to it.

VYL has the best Customer Service and their people will help you with whatever your questions are. I've had multiple calls support (I have little questions on scenarios, unlocking my SPA2102, and Free PBX things) and every person has been knowledgeable and very nice. It's actually worth the cost just for the support they will give you. They'll help you with equipment that's not even their own... who else does that?

I have put 'would I recommend' to NO even though everything is great and there is a reason for it. If you know for sure that you are never going to exceed 2500 minutes per month then voipyourlife is great. Their service is great, their customer service is excellent. But their unlimited plan is falsely advertised to be unlimited when there is really a cap on it. They recently decided to (without warning) put me on a basic plan with 200 outgoing minutes only. I am going to be switching to another company in the mean time. A couple of things that are not good about voipyourlife. They don't give you warnings. They just DO whatever they want to do and fire you an email about it. They thought my credit card was fraudulent and cut my service without any warning whatsoever. I could not even call their customer service to rectify the problem. I ended up using my cell phone minutes, which racked up easily since it took a good 45 minutes to sort out the issue. They also, without warning, switched me to a lower plan rather than sending me a warning email to lower my usage (even though the plan is unlimited by the way). Their webadmin page does not have total minutes used. Good luck trying to add up the minutes of all your calls manually. So if you can keep your minutes usage below 2500, go with them, they are a good company. If not, don't expect them to understand that you are calling your family abroad, because they will think that you are reselling their service even if you are calling the same numbers (same numbers = same family members and not the whole of US or UK).

I wanted to leave a note about VoipYourLife because of their excellent customer service. I signed up for the service while living abroad so that I could keep a US based number. Based on other reviews, I picked this company. Within hours of signing up for the account, they noticed what appeared to be fraudulent activity coming from my account (US number in use from a foreign IP), and disabled me. Why is this a good thing? Because it means they are looking out for their customers and their credit cards. I called their tech support line and in less than a minute got a polite and helpful man on the line. He directed me to their customer support people, and again I got a polite and helpful woman on the line. She explained the situation, how I could resolve it (fax them proof that I was who I said I was), and was interrupted by her supervisor, who spoke to me personally, re-enabled my account, and politely answered some questions about number portability. Total time to resolve the situation: 6 minutes. In a world where good customer service is getting someone on the line after 30 minutes of hold music and having a rep who cant deviate from a script, this was a huge surprise. I highly recommend VoipYourLife to anyone else who is considering them as a VoIP provider. So far: The call quality has been good. They can port in numbers from cell and landline providers. The customer service is great. They don't lock you to a single device. They support softphones.

Nov '07 Vonage was at the top of the ratings here, and VYL was second. After reading scads of reviews it became apparent that Vonage was going down the tubes and had nil for customer service, while VYL was mostly good with excellent customer service at significantly less cost. So I got VYL. - Installation was simple enough, but did require a call to tech support. That support person answered in *LESS* than a minute and addressed my issue on the spot, so I gave it five stars. CAVEAT: Number porting, which VYL says is contracted out to a third party, was a NIGHTMARE. It took five months to port my number because they kept saying the DSL had to be converted to dry loop before they could port it. The phone company said they do this all the time and if dry loop is done the number will be lost and not able to be ported. The phone company was right - I finally got the morons to just do the port anyway and *ding*, no problem. - When I started a year ago I could fax. Now I can't, but their web site and their sales staff clearly indicate fax isn't strictly supported, so I can't really ding them for that. I can add virtual numbers, and I have done that for the D.C. area, but while that number works perfectly, no one at work can dial it. I've had a trouble ticket in for this for two months now without resolution. VYL says the D.C. switching station is mis-configured and the D.C. phone company says the provider (VYL in this case) has to request remediation. So the virtual number thing comes across a bit spotty. - I've had echoes on my line from day one. The closer the other end is to my house, physically, the more severe the echo. The neighbor, 400 feet away, is the worst. Calling work 481 miles away the quality is so crystal clear that even now, a year later, a pause in the conversation results in an "are you there?". It's so incredibly quiet that no talking sounds like a dropped call - but it's not. It's just QUIET. Over the months VYL has done numerous tweaks to the appliance and the echoes have been significantly reduced, but they are still present. I think these echo tweaks are what whacked fax. NOTE: I researched VoIP echoes on the 'net, and documentation for a commercial PBX product indicates these are caused by wiring problems in an analog connection on the *other* end. Essentially there is a feedback loop that the analog system would filter, but the digital system does not. So that echo has always been present but it doesn't appear until VoIP is installed. - About a month ago I started getting dropped calls, which happened randomly and with increased frequency. It finally refused to dial at all, which was more than a little annoying, *however* I never *told* VYL about it until it wouldn't dial. Once I e-mailed them it was addressed in a matter of hours; since then (a whole four days) I haven't had any problems. - So other than some wonkiness and echoes the service has worked extremely well.

have used them now 2+ yrs, up front setup was easy, but needed to work with Verizon FiOS and VoIPYourLife to get the quality of service correct and work out kinks in the FiOS service. Every now and then you get an echo on the lines. Most notable during heavy network traffic. Also telephone voice can be a problem and that certain voice will generate digit sounds in the ear piece. Mine sits behind the actiontec router, opened ports directly to it, sealed all other routes off and have had no issues. Have the router and VoIPYourLife box connected to a 10 hour back up battery system to match the Verizon FiOS backup system. Electricity goes out, I have a phone for 10 hours. If it is longer, a simple log into the internet (cell on a laptop) and forward all calls to the cell phone. Short money for the quality. I have only called CS now 3 times in the past 30-33 months.

No issues in day to day use of phone. Quality is decent. Customer Service has been good; My only problem with them is, they are BLOCKING calls to toll-free calling card numbers . I use calling cards to make international calls. But, VOIPyourlife doesn't allow the 1-800 number of the calling cards to go through! When I asked them, they didn't have a proper response. If they are blocking toll-free calling card numbers, at the least, they owe to inform the customers upfront OR provide the same international rates which is got from a calling card!. This may not be an issue, in case you have an unlimited long distance plan, because many calling cards also provide "local access numbers" (which is actually cheaper per minute). Btw, I am able to use toll free conference call numbers (which is absolute must for my work). Apart from this one issue, I have been happy with the service and will continue to use it.

Only one week into service with no issues. Set-up was easy, but not obvious. I chose to do on-line and only call if I was stuck. There is a set-up wizard for the hardware they support, but the only way to find it was through the user forum. Once there, it was a no-brainer. Very satisfied.

This service has been great. They were not quite correct on a question I asked of them. I wanted to use a phone on a wireless network where I did not have access to the router. The correct solution was a wireless bridge, not what their C.S. told me to use. Other than that, they are very responsive to questions and I haven't had a problem with the service. I have recommended them to others. For low volume calling, this is a very economical solution.

If we weren't moving shortly, and our local phone provider wasn't so expensive, I would happily change providers now. This hasn't been a good experience for us. I didn't realize you could only have one phone right at your computer. One of the technical support people pointed us to a website that told us how to get phone service through the whole house, but when we had problems, I talked to a different technical support person, who told me it was impossible to have our phones set up the way we did, and that I was wrong, and couldn't help me. He finally just hung up on me. I have only found 1 technical support person who knows what they are doing, and usually when things go wrong, DH has to go online to figure out the problem, because the technical support person can't help. Their regular customer service people are very nice, though. We have problems with our phone every month and a half or so, and are left without phone service for anywhere from a couple hours and 3 days. As I stated before, only one time has their technical support been able to help. Either DH has to figure out what is wrong, or eventually our phone service magically comes back. Every couple months we have a problem with other people being able to hear us when talking to them. I can hear what they are saying, but they can't hear me. We often have problems with messages left on voice mail where it cuts out in the middle of the message, and is dead for a few seconds, and then you can hear the person talking again. That probably happens about 50% of the time. When we move, there is no way I will ever consider using this service again. We had our phone through Comcast for about 5 months, and never had any of these problems. I would have stayed with them, but we are in some odd area where a small phone company has a monopoly, and Comcast was forced to give us up as a customer. The local phone company would be about $75-80 a month, and there have been times I almost went over to them and paid so much more, because we have had such bad quality of service.

Voice quality is good, features are good, no problems with billing. The difficulty is with support, which is contracted through RNK Communications. If the problem has a simple solution, the first level tech is generally helpful and will fix it on the spot. If the problem cannot be not solved at that level, it goes into the round file, and you not be given the courtesy of any feedback. Technicians apparently use nom de phones, I have never been able to follow up with anyone who said they would do something. They do not return calls. There seem to be problems when their phone adapter is used with a router. They want the phone adapter first after the cable modem, but that causes router problems. Linksys, which makes both router and phone adapter says the router should be first, but that seems to cause phone problems, and at times RNK will refuse to address a problem unless the phone adapter is placed first in line. Neither RNK or Linksys are willing to address the compatibility issues between the two pieces of equipment or any solution thereto.

Since our initial sign up we've had occasional bouts of less than optimal call quality, and a simple call to VYL's tech support solved all concerns promptly... I would highly recommend this VOIP provider

VOIPYOURLIFE is a great service for what you pay. Great Features, but the Best part is I can get an email notification on my SmartPhone/Cellular. Originally I was a SunRocket customer , until they gave their customers 1Days notice and shutdown. SunRocket had a great service but obviously did not review their Business Model/Finances closely enough to make it a long term endeavor. So Teleblend offered to take over their accounts after many people paid 2 years service in advance, "always a bad idea". Instead Teleblend offered a low cost rollover plan. Teleblend is possibly "THE WORST VOIP Provider" out there. Once rolled over to Teleblend it would not maintain a telephone call for more than 2 minutes. Now keep in mind that at that time I had an enterprise level vpn appliance & NEC VoIP phone that I was testing for a client which worked "flawlessly with my cable modem". So the issues with Teleblend were most definitely resource issues with there equipment and/or faulty equipment on my end. However the Gizmo was working when SunRocket was in business. Okay! Back to VOIPYOURLIFE. For a VoIP service this is as good as it gets. I am sure there are better but you get what you pay for. $$$$$$$$$$ Please consider using a GLBA/SOX/HIPAA compliant password with your admin account. Phreakers/Crackers love using your VoIP connection. Basically have an Alpha Numeric password that is a Sentence from your favorite book and/or author. Another great feature is the availability to use a SIP based telephone such as SJPhone or X-Lite , which are free to download. Use google to find them. Unless you want to invest in an Enterprise Class solution and spend 50K on a Cisco VOIP device , and $500 per month for a T1 line , this is as good as it gets.

I have used the service for months now. the quality is very good and network reliability has not been an issue at all. I don't use all of the features, but have no complaints about the ones I use. it wouldn't break my heart to spend a little less each month, but the old saying is true that you get what you pay for. Customer service is US-based and the reps actually know how to answer my questions. I haven't tried other providers, mostly because of the reviews I read on the internet from actual users. I picked voip your life because of the good reviews I found on and the fact that I didn't have to sign a contract. bottom line--this service has been great for me and I recommend to anyone reading that they give it a try.

Outstanding no frills VoIP service. Ordering was smooth, transition from Sunrocket was easy and fast. line quality is outstanding...much better than what I had with Sunrocket which I was also very pleased with. It is the only VOIP service I've had that has worked with my old fax machine without a hitch. I've not had a network outage since I've had the service. I've had Vonage, Comcast and Sunrocket and the reliability of VoIP Your Life is unparalleled with any other VoIP service I've had. My only gripe about VYL is the feature set is very limited compared to its competitors. We run a small business out of the home and with our previous provider we were able to use the virtual number to go to a separate voice mail for all business calls. This is not available with VYL. The virtual number goes to the same voice mail as the primary number. The member web site is very vanilla. Looks like it hasn't gone through a redesign in many years. It appears very antiquated especially if you are used to Sunrocket or Vonage member sites. Though this may be changing since the home page was recently updated. With that said, the UI is still functional and very easy to use. There is also no network outage forwarding...but they have proven that you don't need it. You will find better feature set for the price elsewhere, but if you are just looking for rock solid reliability, I would definitely recommend VYL.

After reading about Vonage and some of the others I was more than a little scared about trying this. Now I am so happy. Absolutely as reliable as any phone service that I have ever had and at half the cost. The calls could be louder but the sound quality is excellent. The bills are a piece of cake. My one PROBLEM, faxing, I have the line mostly for family calls and the occasional business fax out of my home office. If the fax is more than 5 pages, you will probably have an issue. I new this could be an issue going in. Sharp makes a broadband fax, might be worth packaging with this if you home office with any frequency. I wanted to share my 2 cents since this is where I made my decision. Sales staff was helpful and I was up and running in 4 days with a number I picked, haven't had a single problem beyond faxing. No phone calls to customer service, how much is that worth? Good Luck.

Expensive service. They messed up my invoice. Sent to wrong email address. blocked few international calling card toll free numbers. Paying a hefty service fee per month decided to switch to viatalk. The same number blocked in VoIPYourLife worked great with ViaTalk. Got my own device. With 8MBps downstream, 412KBps, Viatalk is flying. It took me a day to set up my device with one third of the service fee and 3 times more feature than VOIPYourLife. What best do you expect from Viatalk ? What more trouble do you expect from VOIPYourLife ?

We had Vonage (twice) and dumped them finally. I found this company online (here actually) and decided to try them. They are great and here's why: Customer Service: always available, based in USA and they answer nearly immediately without having to go thru vm hoops. They are helpful and answer questions promptly, themselves-no transferring to other depts! This was a huge plus for us. International Calling: Reliable and great sound quality. Sound Quality: NO ECHOES! great sound, period. Ease of use: It's a no brainer, once it's connected you can use your regular phone/cordless. Features: Extensive feature list-music on hold or when you click over is nice and there's a do not disturb feature and a wake up call! They have a counterpart softphone also that can be downloaded onto your computer and you can use it just like your regular phone to answer and place calls with all of the features available. Everything is at your fingertips on the web and your voicemails can be delivered to your phone AND your email. Pricing: Fair and Reasonable-a good deal really. I may sound a little over enthusiastic, I never write things like this, however, I love a great deal and we're really happy with voipyourlife. I hope they're around forever! thanks-hope this review was helpful. lisa in phoenix

I had really bad experience with voipyourlife.com. I had to call technical service to set this up (which I didn't have to for my previous provider - I am quite familiar with these hardware and computer in general). That was acceptable. But the killer was when I tried to port my number, which they promised initially was maximum 2.5-3 weeks. I waited for 6 weeks with multiple calls and emails to follow up with customer service on the status of the number porting. They rarely reply to your emails, and when they do the answers are not good. The call quality started OK but my friends soon started complaining that they cant hear me (despite a 5Mbps internet connection - which I frequently test for speed). After 3 months, it was getting worse, so I thought enough was enough and discontinued the service. I got a complete bill though I disconnected after 20 days of the month. Then I thought what's the point in dealing with that customer service. The shocker was a month later, when they charged me again!!! I call them up again, and the rep agrees to not charge it again and sends me the confirmation mail. Now the confirmation mail reaches me with the next surprise - I have to ship the adapter back to them at my expense in 14 days or they will charge me another $100. How about that? I have been a tech guy all along. I have used just about everything internet offers and have dealt with various dealers and service providers. To be frank, this was one of the worst experience.

The international plan was the kicker for me, between my wife and I we talk about 30 to 50 hours a month international. we have family and kids everywhere. I am a designer of Carrier class VoIP and next generation telephony devices. While there user management GUI lacks any flare, the base features and management is functional and has been very reliable. It must follow the "kiss principle". no outages by this provider in 6 months of service. 1 or 2 dropped calls a month. has been as reliable as ma bell.

Voipyourlife is one of the of the best VoIP service provider. I tried ZingoTel which was alright for a while, but then they automatically changed my plan from Personal to Business and I ended up with a big bill, and I couldn't get my money back as everything DOES imply according to their contract. Before ZingoTel I had Primus, which was a bitter experience because they started charging for net works, and had a lot of billing problems. Voipyourlife is the first company that I have found provides very good customer service, a lot of great features and are very honest in their billing process.

This is our first voip phone experience...we will be in Boquete Panama for approximately 8 weeks and we wanted to have phone and internet availability where we are staying and we have had nothing but a great experience.. the clarity of the phone conversations is amazing ..we have made and received numerous phone calls from New York, Florida, California etc and have nothing but crystal clear calls.. no dropped phone calls.. everyone that we have spoke to back in the states said that it sounds like we are sitting right next to them. I did purchase a Panasonic DECT 6.0 digital phone before heading down to Panama. I don't know if that helped the clarity of the calls or not but this system has been excellent up to this point. If anyone is interested in the cat # of the phone it is KX-TG1032S.

Have had crystal clear calls through VOIP Your Life for over a year now. Setup and running within 2 days of getting the package in the mail. Customer service was very helpful. Service is feature rich and mostly reliable although there have been 3 or 4 times in the past year where there is no dial tone for half a day or so. Otherwise, the service has been exactly what I was looking for when I made the leap to VOIP.

A tech company that uses real, live, human beings to answer the phone after a couple rings and no automated system!!! A tech company whose employees are native english speakers so you can understand every single word they say!!!! Heart be still........ Those two elements alone were enough to convince me to use VYL. Add a rich complement of features like their virtual number (so family back home who aren't VOIP customers can dial a local number at their end and avoid ATT/QWEST long distance charges). The ability to track ALL calls online, (landline service requires you to get a subpoena for local calls if you need to prove they had been made) the ability to set up the features you want and disable the ones you don't (I want my answering machine to take the calls, not the computer), and a long list of features I can turn on or off as the need arises. I have no problem with Caller ID.... it shows up on my phone with names, so maybe it's a hardware handshake thing that's preventing people from seeing who is calling. My phone at home is a Uniden CLS 475-3 which is a three handset system that I can expand with a half dozen more. Works fine. I had a little difficulty setting up my system due to Qwest's customer disservice. Dealing with THEIR multi-layer automated system was a nightmare, but that's a whole 'nother story. I've had relatively clear transmissions, and no dropped calls. There has been a noticeable lag time between dialing and connecting, but you get used to it. (only slightly annoying, but I'll try the # trick). For cutting my phone service cost in half, I'm more than content with what I'm getting and what I'm paying for it. No commitments. Who cares what their website looks like as long as everything works.....and it does. This is a good company that understands the most basic concept of the service they provide: CLEAR COMMUNICATION. It starts with the potential customer and the service provider connecting seamlessly for the sale and the setup. It continues after the sale with responsive customer service. Feature rich, understandable service providers, reasonable rates, reliable service.....what's not to love?

I am disgusted with both VOIPYOURLIFE and AT&T. I signed up for VYL in July. VYL has still not finished porting my old number from AT&T, only sends form responses, gives me inaccurate instructions, takes its time sending requests over to AT&T so they time out. VYL told me to disconnect "Ringmate" service, which I did, on the grounds that AT&T declined to transfer over my associated number. then AT&T tells me that it has NO PROBLEM transferring what it calls "RingMaster" (its tradename for "RingMate") numbers because it routinely ports them in. But now it can't because I disconnected the RingMaster as VYL told me AT&T was requiring. This was after several months of other excuses why AT&T would not port. So now, I'm paying VYL and AT&T for service, because VYL tells me not to disconnect AT&T until the porting is finished. AT&T points the finger at VYL and VYL points it at AT&T. At this point, it appears that neither really gives a damn about the consumer. So I am contacting the FCC, my legislative representatives and my state consumer protection department. I will most likely now have to drop landline service altogether and rely on wireless, but I will make them both pay counsel to defend a lawsuit in local court - even if they win, it will cost them a chunk of change.

One we got it up and running it has been fine, except for one thing, caller ID. There is no caller ID. They are aware of the problem and the techy guys say they get calls all the time about it, its their number 1 call problem. They gave me a reason, and I'm sure its legit, however its not excuse. When someone calls in it ALWAYS shows "blocked" and when we call out we have some other guys name showing up to the people we are calling. They say they HOPE to have it corrected by next year. We switched to another VOIP, sadly.

The tech support is outstanding. They actually answer the phone very quickly, very short hold. And they hang with you to solve any problems. Broadvox was absolutely horrible, but VoipYourLIfe is outstanding. We now have 3 adapters in our family. Just set up the 3rd one today. For some reason, it wouldn't pick up an IP address behind a Linksys RV082 router, so tech support walked me through assigning a static IP in the phone adapter. After that, no problems at all. The other 2 adapters automatically picked up an IP address.

So Im a fan gizmos and like to try other things out from time to time. I am a Vonage user currently (over a year), but wanted to try something else out there. I was looking for someone who could give me softphone free and save me a couple more bucks a month. Well I tried VYL based on reviews here. I guess I jumped the gun... First, as many have stated, the Admin panel is HORRIBLE. If you are going to sell a technology, it at least needs the appearance that the company is all about technology. I haven't seen a such a dry webpage since 1995. Moving on... Features were lacking in two areas for me. First, they don't support Caller ID with NAME. Just Caller ID. What's the difference? Well Caller ID displays the phone number. Caller ID with NAME displays the phone number AND name of the person or company. To me, Caller ID is useless. I want to know WHO is calling me. I called VYP to see why the name was not displaying (10 minutes on hold waiting) and the agent told me they were having problems with their system and its their top priority. So I replied and said "So when you system is working, I will have caller ID with name and number" He replied again "We are having a problem with our caller ID system and it is our top priority" So its obvious this guy is ducking my question with a general reply. That he knows something I don't know. I go out and google some, and find out that Caller ID with Name is not supported with VYL, nor is a second line or fax capabilities on that line. Well, all the important features I needed, dont exist with this service so I cancelled 2 days later. Guess I shouldn't have jumped the gun by looking at all the 5 star ratings at this website. During the two days I used the service, the audio dropped out often, and people on the other end often said It sounded like I was talking in a tunnel. I can't blame myself or my broadband for this because I have been and continue to be a Vonage subscriber for over a year and never experienced audio problems. I am a fan of companies who have a website that contains documentations, how-to's, faqs, and forums, and VYL didn't have any. A very cut and dry service. I just wanted to try something else, and am sorry I did. I'm still with Vonage and won't bother with any other.

Service was fantastic for the first month or so... Then every 3-5 days the service would be dead... trying to make outgoing calls would be met with fast busy, people trying to call in would be met with "This number is temporarily out of service" recordings. Tech support constantly blamed Roadrunner. Finally the service went dead and would not come back to life... They tried to access the VoIP adapter and found it was fried... sent a new one overnight... every 3-5 days, you have to power it off then back on to clear up sound quality... Starts cutting in and out, like chopping the conversations Severely. Contacted their support, and AGAIN they blamed roadrunner... ran their speed and jitter tests, Just shy of 14Mb down, and 1.3Mb up, less than 2% jitter... called RR out and had them replace the modem, drop from the pole to the house and the line from their external termination to the modem... Speeds are the same, same issue with VoIPyourlife... They are clueless. If you want a phone, go with a local carrier and forget VOIP... seems no one has it right yet and it's a gamble... When you need 911, you might not be able to get them.. .and that could mean life or death!

Quality was horrible. Even though my DSL is high speed, I wasn't able to hold a meanful conversation - it was like a cell call in a low coverage area. As a result I let my service lapse and they turned off my ability to make calls. After 2 months, VOIPYOURLIFE tried to make me pay 2 months of service to reinstate it when their customer service said they could improve my quality. Since I was unable to make calls during this period I refused and they insisted that I return the equipment. I tried this service because of the Customer Service Rating. Seems to me those ratings MUST be over inflated.

I used to have sunrocket before, thank god for this website. I ordered the viatalk service and waited almost two weeks being very patient to get my service and box. It never came, kept tracking my order, all they did was process my credit card number. I called them up twice, first time was to complain that I paid extra to expedite the order process and after 1 week it had not moved. They put quicker shipping on my order for free. Checked my order about 5 days later, it had still not yet processed. Waited on hold for a long time when I called them back up to cancel, canceling was no problem since my order had never even been prepared for shipment. Read the reviews on this sight about voipyourlife, called up and spoke to customer service to see if they were really based here in the U.S. and see if they were knowledgeable and friendly, short hold time, had a knowledgeable rep, and they are based out of Oklahoma. I ordered the service for the one year which supposedly gives me a 10% discount so I paid after the FCC fee and taxes about 324 and some change for the year. I am a bit skeptical especially after what happened with sunrocket after pre-paying for the year in advance but I feel that it is still waaaayyy cheaper then going with the phone companies or time warners digital phone. After ordering the new service today, ups tracking is showing the box is on its way right now, and will be here in two days. The rep told me it would take 3 days since I ordered late in the day but it will actually be here 1 day before the rep quoted me. I like that. Well the other ratings I gave pretty much was an okay because I have not had the service for very long since I just ordered it today. So far after using there free softphone, service is reliable and very clear. No problems so far. Dont go with viatalk! They take your credit card number, and make you sit there and wait and hope that your order will get to you. I could not stand waiting any longer, I did not want to lose my sunrocket number because once it is shut off, it is gone for good. Thanks voipyourlife.com!

Sunrocket was good to me, never a problem. So I was anxious looking for another provider. Really just wanted basic service with excellent customer support. This is it. Friendly voices that sound like they want to help rather than making you feel like you were bothering them. Activation time was minutes on the phone. The web sites needs some work, it's pretty archaic by most web standards but it gets the job done I suppose. I'm happy for now, We'll see how it goes a few months into it.

Excellent customer support. Even with the shutdown of Sunrocket and increase in call volume, I never waited more than 3 minutes to speak with a person that spoke english. All the calls to both customer service and tech support were knowledgeable and friendly. I rate this outstanding. After sign up took one day to say the adapter was shipped and up and running in 3 days. A little expensive for compared to other voip rates, but calling to tech support and customer service make up for it. If you don't call over sea's a lot then 23 dollar plan has low long distant rates to most countries. If you call Germany, South Korea or I believe United Kingdom to name a few, then go with the 29 global unlimited, 30 countries with no additional charges. If you have any questions, I called tech support 5 times and they answered every question, even though I was taking up their valuable time, with the increase call volume. The representative made like my call was important to him and have my issues resolved before we hung up. Try getting that service form ATT, Vonage or Verizon.

Well like a bunch of other people lately I was forced to find a new VOIP provider after Sunrocket dumped all its customers. I came to this site to see what others had to say about various VOIP providers. I saw VOIPYOURLIFE had very good reviews and thought I'd give them a try. My goodness what a difference between them and Sunrocket. When I signed up with Sunrocket it took two weeks before the number they gave me was active. When I did become active Caller ID didn't work, there was static, echoes in calls, dropped calls, dead air, etc etc. It took many calls to their customer support to get things resolved. I signed up with VOIPYOURLIFE on Monday evening, immediately my number was ready. I called it from my cell phone and my voicemail was already set up. I then downloaded their X-lite softphone to see if I could use that while I was waiting for my Linksys device. That worked like a charm and I was able to start making and receiving calls immediately. I had to call their customer support as I had a question about the X-lite set up and I got through to a human being that could speak english. Three days later I got my Linksys VOIP adapter. I plugged it in and like magic everything works. I made a few calls last night and everyone I spoke to remarked at how clear the sound was. Caller ID worked immediately as has everything else with VOIPYOURLIFE. I should have switched to them a long time ago. One thing that VOIPYOURLIFE has that Sunrocket didn't was the Wake Up Call. I tried it before going to bed last night and this morning at 6am my phone rang. I felt like I was in a fancy hotel. Based on what I've experienced so far with these folks I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

After the vonage experience this is a breath of fresh air -- I was up and running immediately with X-Lite (free -- amazing) while waiting for my adapter which came in less than 4 days - the system is configurable with any device and after some tinkering I was able to get my Nokia E65 up and running through a WIFI connection - cool stuff -- they don't seem to care how many devices are activated on one number. One negative input and they are aware of the issue -- now many toll free numbers work in Canada and most companies are mystified when you ask for a local number -- takes some digging but most web sites have that information - usually found through site maps -- Great service -- hope it stays that way now that they seen to be getting busy --

This is my first time using VoIP and based upon the reviews that I read here, I gave VoIP Your Life a try. It has been a breeze! I am not computer savvy at all, so I postponed setting up the system until a stress free Saturday morning with a piping hot pot of coffee. I had one minor problem (because I did not know the difference between a modem and a router) which customer service helped me with quickly. I was up and running before I finished my first cup of coffee. It took about 4 weeks for my old home number to "port" over and it has been a great experience! Calls are of high quality and system consistently works, unless Road Runner goes down......which is not VoIP Your Life's fault. I highly recommend this to everyone.

As a Vonage user for a couple of years, I was close to returning to hard line ATT. Vonage was AWFUL. Horrible customer service after long wait times and the service was ridiculously unreliable. Based on some reviews, I gave VOIPYOURLIFE a crack and I couldn't be happier. My God, you call their customer service and you not only don't get long wait times, YOU GO DIRECT to a native English speaking person who is very helpful. Geez, who are these guys? This is too good to be true. I checked the dial tone frequently just to see if it was there for a while and it is always working. Voice quality is almost indistinguishable from a land line. highly recommended.

These guys are great. US based tech/cust service says it all. Patient, courteous, genuinely interested in taking care of your needs - an almost lost art these days. Great support, great quality. Have had about 2 weeks. I use Soft phone and ATA. When I'm on the SoftPhone I am told it sounds like Carnegie Hall!! I use a Ligitech headphone with it - superb. I also just got my adapter and I am testing it out. I had an issue hooking it up with my router but cust support was there for me, and patiently guided me thru it and didn't rush me thru it. Great guys!!! FYI: I also have subscribed to ETLNK TrueVoice. It is supposed to be superior because the VOIP runs on your DSL phone line to the Telco C.O. and then switches to a server to go VoIP. I have had them try to eliminate an intermittent echo 4 times and it is disruptive where I have to redial the call. ETHLNK Cust/tech support is outsourcrd to India/Philippines -a nightmare. I am considering switching my DSL hardline over to VYL. VYL - GREAT JOB.

Had a little trouble when switching over from my other voip provider. Probably due to my inexperience with such things. Called tech support and they were able to get me up and running in no time at all. They are knowledgeable, courteous and most importantly I could understand what they were saying. Their customer service is great and I would recommend them highly.

There's simply nothing to say! This company has excellent voice quality, no dropped calls, crisp sound for international calls and best of all its extremely economical. I was nervous about getting a VoIP service from a US company being based in Canada... but its been one of the best decisions I have made. The customer service has been exceptional and only once was I charged for a 51min international call which I did not make, and the customer rectified my bill immediately with absolutely no questions! I just have 3 words for all of you folks..."GO FOR IT!!!" ;-)

I ordered the service a week ago, and got the voip box today. I have had Vonage for the last 4 years w/o any problems and am on a 12Mb/1.5Mb cable connection so plenty of bandwidth. Setup was not very straight forward. The adapter was shipped unconfigured, so I had to call and provide the MAC then wait 10 min. Finally they flashed it, and locked me out. Luckily there is a way to reset the settings using a phone and then get back in via defaults. Voice quality seems pretty good, and the feature set is better than Vonage, however I seem to have lost caller ID by NAME. Which makes caller ID pretty useless. There is a setting (locked to users) which can change caller ID protocol in the box so perhaps they can tweak it to get it working - hope so since this may be a deal breaker. Will keep both services running a couple weeks to see how this performs.

This is a follow up: I wrote a review back in November of last year, I was happy then and I am still happy with the service. I have had the service for about six months now and I have not had a single problem. As another person said, caller id does not work like it should but for the price and quality I can live with it. To be fair, I have never even called to have it fixed. Having had Sunrocket and Vonage I can tell you that Voipyourlife is worth trying. Scott

I love the people who work for this company. Their customer service is stellar, and their VoIP phone service sounds as good as my land line. They have one deal breaking problem, however. They have a very poor implementation of caller ID. I was surprised to lose my caller ID by name feature when I converted to VoipYourLife; numbers only on caller ID are pretty much useless. In addition, the people I call are not getting proper caller ID information. They usually get a city and state name only. To make matters worse, I am identified by a city that is far from my actual location. When caller ID is properly implemented and includes name information, I may come back to this company, but in the meantime, I am forced to find a new provider, and cannot in good conscience recommend this company to others. To be fair though, if you can live without caller ID, and you are willing to pay their price, you won't find a better VoIP provider.

When you get VOIP and you have a router, recommend getting N Router for the range within the house. VOIPyourlife is excellent overall. And you can get different calling plans. I chose the unlimited international for around $30 bucks. You can call anywhere to Europe and I think most places throughout the world. North America included of course. Overall great service. highly recommend this. They send you a CISCO gadget and your off and running. Analog or digital phones work. I have a Panansonic Digital phone system 5.8ghz.

I read the reviews and after doing some homework I ordered. I was a bit nervous about a US based VoIP service as a Canadian but I don't regret a thing. I thought the phone adapter would take a while to get to me and it was around 12 days from the time I ordered the service to the time I received it. The PST&GST taxes and customs fee were about $14 Canadian. However, once I received the phone adapter and activated the phone service online the hardware installation was a piece of cake. Basically you plug the phone adapter into the cable modem, plug in a phone, lift the receiver and there is a dial tone. I had no software setup issues with the phone adapter at all. My only beef was the fact that I started paying for the VoIP service from the initial order but didn't get the phone adapter until 12 days later which meant I lost a third of the month. I emailed customer service complaining about this a month after the initial order and within 20 minutes of my email I was told by Gary at customer service that they would reset my billing date to the activation date so I would get a full month's service. Fantastic! You have to love customer service like this. I've been telling all my friends about the quality and the service. Keep it up VoIP Your Life.

I got Packet8 2 years ago and thought it was as good as it gets. Let me tell you....Voipyourlife is 1000% better. Loud, clear, no dead spots. I did have a call drop today which I thought was unusual. I've only been up and running for a few days. I'll take a dropped call every once in a while if I can get the clarity. Plus...no contracts...that's nice. I had to use the support line as I have a complicated network but they really knew how to get me going...maybe 5 minutes on the phone.

It only took 2 days after I placed my order to get the adapter and about 5 minutes to connect and bingo I had service. The service is crystal clear and I have had no dropped calls. I called there Technical Support Department 3 different times about setup, porting my old phone number and setting up my 3 other regular wireless house phones. Each Call only took 2 minutes or less. There Technical Support Department is the the best that I have ever used. Unlike other company's that you have to enter 32 menu codes to reach a live person (if your lucky), with VoIP Your Life just one ring and a live person that is polite and gives correct tech info that I can understand without them rushing to get off the phone.

Dependable I've been using VOIP for over 3 years. Earthlink: reboot every two weeks Vonage: reboot every three weeks NetVoce, VoceTalk (VoicePulse): sound quality ? broken up & No Customer Service. Comcast Digital Voice: problems receiving incoming calls Bright House Digital Phone: dropped calls, dropped calls, and more dropped calls What I like about my 7 months with VoIPYourLife is: NO Dropped Calls. Customer Service is truly phenomenal, granted?. But what I really like is that I?ve had no dropped calls. That may not mean much to some people, But to me it means a lot. Steve

I love VoipYourLife. I just came from a nightmare (ITP do not use, the Cust Serv is awful and they took charges out of my debit card willy nilly!) . VoipYourLife quality is all around great! The service is crystal clear. The only thing that is needing improvement is their caller ID. It only addresses the phone number and not name/ but they are working on it. I really think you should give them your telephone business! They are great!

I ordered on a Sunday, had the adapter on Thursday, I plugged it in between my modem and router and...wow....dial tone. Did nothing else. I just wired it into my home phone lines, the quality is excellent. I did have some issues using a 2.4gz phone, a little bit of static, this seems to be caused by my wireless router on the same frequency. I switched over to my regular phones and it is absolutely perfect. I have 5 phones on it, 3 with ringers enabled. I went with this company because of the reviews I read and am glad I did. I don't know about customer service since I have not needed to call them (a good thing in my book). I rarely do not take the time to write about companies, but this one is worth the time. I am very happy, and so is my wife (guys will appreciate that), she was very hesitant about switching and would complain if there was any difference in sound quality. She says the sound quality is clearer than our old POTS. Other than my 2.4gz phones, the change was flawless and I now save $45 a month. Try these guys, you'll be impressed.

I have only had my new service for less then a day, but I had to write a review because when I signed up with my last service, it was a nightmare from the start. I called on Monday to order the service, I got the adapter on Wednesday. I was past the time for the .99 offer, but they gave to me anyway. I swapped out my Sunrocket adapter for the new VOIPYourLife Adapter and within 45 seconds I had a dial tone. I tested both incoming and outgoing and it worked great right out of the box. I had to spend hours on the phone with Sunrocket before I even had a dial tone with them. Any way, I called customer service just to say how happy I was that it worked this easy and the guy looked at my settings and saw that I was not using the correct ports (My phone device is behind my router). He gave me the port numbers to change and helped me to change a few other things so that it would work with my set up. I asked him why we needed to do this since it was working fine, and he explained that I might have trouble in the future with incoming calls if I don't have the correct ports open. We made the changes and everything works great. This is the first time in three weeks that I have been able to use my home phone and not the cell phone. Another thing, we got disconnected and he called me back (You don't see that very much anymore). I read all the reviews before going with VOIPYourLife, and it seems that the reviews are true. I have had Vonage and Sunrocket and these guys are far and away the best I have seen so far. I hope that the service continues to be this good. I had never heard of this company, no flashy TV ads or anything like that just great service. If you are looking for VOIP or looking to switch to something that works, give them a try. Scott

The best VOIP phone service out there, that?s what I believe you won?t be disappointed with this phone service. Very nice customer service although I haven?t called but one time. I didn?t know how to check my voice mail from my home telephone. The customer service rep was very nice and from the time I called to having the problem solved only took around 40 seconds. This is a very good VOIP service.

Seriously Dedicated Employees I've shopped around and I am really happy with VoIP Your Life.com. They are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to make my service the best it can be. I have rarely experienced this type of service in any industry. Just in case you think I'm an employee, friend, or relative: I am not. I fortunately found some great reviews for VoIP YourLife, so I took a chance. Frustrated with Vonage and NetVoce (Daniel McNew), I was unfairly impatient and impolite when I first called VoIP Your Life. Betty, who took the call, was still very polite and extremely helpful. She set up the order for 3 VoIP phone numbers and I received my adapters the next day. I received a follow up call from a guy in customer service named Jack. He noticed a calibration problem in one of my adapters and was calling to inform me of the issue and to talk me through the calibration process. Later, a guy named Dennis helped me with another adaptor calibration and even told a few good jokes during the process. Well maybe not good jokes, but jokes just the same. The FCC has deregulated VoIP, so make sure you pick a good one. I am so relieved to have found a good company. Please feel free to call me at my office between 9 and 5 EST. I won?t have much time, however, I will do my best to answer as many questions as time will allow about my experience with VoIP Your Life. Just tell our receptionist you'd like to say "hi" to Steve Yager. Enjoy your VoIP, Steve 248-381-1611 P.S. Betty, Dennis, Jack, and Scott; You may never read this but, just in case: ?Thanks for your patience and determination.? P.P.S. HP fax machines seem to work best because you can change the "Baud Rate" to 9600. Also turn "Error Correction" to OFF. Sometimes re-calibrating your VoIP adaptor helps if it is a dedicated fax line. As far as choppy. poor voice quality..... If you are with a good VoIP provider, they can help you perform some re-calibrations that can usually clear up your quality problem.

I'm a fairly new customer (less than 3 months)--quite satisfied. Setup was easy since my equipment was already configured when I got it. I did have trouble with quality at first but the tech support group fixed that the first time I called them (yes, they actually have LIVE PEOPLE taking support calls). I'm paying more now than I used to pay my old provider, but I guess that's what it takes to go from hating to loving my voip service! ; ) Overall, I'm happy I made the switch to this company.
