Reviewers Comments:

Voip.com is my new provider on the main number and it is excellent, longer wait time for adapter but we used a temp number and later ported my SunRocket #. Service is very good and clear sharp sound. My second line I transferred to Teleblend immediately when SR closed. It is all the SunRocket voice mail and features, but it is equally good and very sharp sound quality. If they can stay afloat and in business, I would recommend. Just waiting to see. I also have a third provider to test: ITP, sound / service / clarity are good.

Reviewers Comments:

I used SunRocket before and the sound quality was really good. So I thought that other service providers are just as good. When SunRocket went out of business, I picked Voip.com because its rate was relatively low. However, the nightmare began after I placed the order at Voip.com. Its site showed that the equipment shipment would arrive in 3 days, but I didn't actually get it until after 2 weeks. I tried to call their support several times but each time my connection got dropped after waiting ~50 minutes online. After the phone is hooked up to the adaptor, the sound quality to long distance was really awful. I tried to contact them but had same bad experience. I had to cancel my service because that in addition to my bad experience mentioned above, my phone couldn't make inbound and outbound calls on the second day I set it up. What a lemon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reviewers Comments:

When I found out that my service with Sunrocket was about to be disconnected, I searched for a new provider. Having had voip service for more than 7 years, and been very happy for the most part, I did some quick searches and checked customer ratings and found a few providers which suited my situation. VOIP.com was rated high, and seemed like a legit company, so I called them to set up an account. I was promised my router would arrive within 5 business days, probably sooner, and that porting of my old number would take between 8 to 30 days, but typically about 10 days. Lies! My voice router arrived 2 weeks later and 28 days after setting up the account, my old phone number still belongs to Sunrocket.com (I called, and the message indicate that Sunrocket still owns the number). Initially the service worked for the first 2 days, then stopped. Calls I made were just dead air after dialing them. Calls received went straight to voice mail, if they went through at all. A few days later I could receive calls, but not make any from my phone. 5 days later service was restored. In between I have called many time, and been on hold for up to an hour, typically 45 minutes, and almost every time when I reached the number one position, the line would go dead. This even happened while being transferred from cust. service to tech. service. I opened 2 service tickets with them, updated them on progress (or lack of) several times, but no response from them at all. They did open a ticket 2 days after I spoke to tech. service, and promised me that they would prioritize my problem, which they didn’t. VOIP.com is about the worst service I have ever experienced. I cancelled my account within the first 30 days to get all my money back. They are currently holding my old phone number hostage, and it has been in the process of being ported for 28 days now. I believe they are stalling the porting process in order to get at least one month of paid service out of me. Didn’t work, I cancelled anyway. I have now lost my phone number of 17 years due to these scam artists. When I received the router I had service, but the phones did not sound right on incoming calls, more like a death rattle. When I signed up, the fact the connection to the sales person was very spotty and broken should have given me a clue, but since I was on my cell phone, I attributed that to my cell service. Even the last call made to them today was very hard to hear, and this was from my land line office phone! If you are looking for a voip provider, and you don’t mind lousy quality, spotty service, no support and if you have a cell phone like to be on hold for hours, then VOIP.com is the provider for you. Go to VOIP.com and sign up now! Their service is cheap and they would love to have you as a client. What I have written above are all facts, and because I now may be the target of VOIP.com and their legal team for writing this less than stellar review of them, I saved copies of my service tickets and my call records from both VOIP.com’s and also my cell phone records to back up any legal action by VOIP.com.

Reviewers Comments:

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE and when they finally answered the phone after 50 minutes on the queue, they were RUDE and couldn't wait to tell us to cancel service. We were SunRocket and after reading reviews from this website www.whichvoip.com reviews, we signed up for VOIP.com. Equipment took almost 2 weeks to arrive, the FedEx tracking didn't help, and still remains exactly the same even to this day. After that the phone never worked properly, first we could make outbound calls but get inbound calls, then for the last 2- 3 weeks we couldn't get inbound calls except the message "this number is not in service". We logged a support ticket on their website, never get response, we added to the same ticket and even make new ticket - NOT A WORD BACK from them. Understand they grew too quick from the SunRocket old customers and I could tolerate some growing pain, but it's BAD when no communication even just to say they are working on it and the WORST thing and INEXCUSABLE thing is when the Customer Services rep acted as if we lied when she could clearly see the tracking of problems on the account record. The CANCEL service is hidden, we had to search around forever to find it, and then the red message displayed on the screen was "you already have an open ticket". If this company was ever any good, it surely had gone VERY VERY VERY BADLY.

Reviewers Comments:

I had to wait almost three weeks to get the phone adapter. I understand that the company is having to deal with a large influx of Sunrocket customers, but the wait was considerably longer than the one week wait I was told to expect. The phone adapter is not what was shown on their Web site. This adapter has only one Ethernet port, so it must be plugged into a router. The problem is that the adapter won't work through the router's firewall. Even after opening the ports suggested by VOIP.COM the adapter didn't work -- I could not hear the person on the phone even though they could hear me. When I plugged the phone adapter into the cable modem it worked fine, but because there is no WAN/LAN ports on the phone adapter there is no way to connect the network router. A Ethernet switch is also not an option as the Internet provider only allows for one outside IP address. Seems to me that VOIP.COM selected the cheapest route they could go on the adapter. The problem is that many people will not be able to get it working if they have any type of router. Time to find yet another voip provider....

I picked VOIP.com due their excellent reviews. I beg to differ. Support SUCKS ! Its like anyone else... When you want to sign up for service they answer your call within 5 minutes. When you want support, forget about it ! I had issues where my phone did not work ie. echo problems not able to dial internationally, people could hear me but i could not hear them.... forget them ! I am going back to land lines ! ATT ( the only choice out there :( I pay more money .. about $10 to $15.00 more a month but well worth it when you think about all the aggravation they put you through. The technology is there but it will be a few years before the fine tune it. In the mean time I am going back to what worked great for more than 100 years...MA BELL !

15 days after signup, I got the device. However my 30 day unconditional money back service started the day I signed up , it doesn't matter when I receive the device. Isn't it a remarkable service ? The grandStream little matchbox device takes one ethernet input. The connection guidance is not upto the mark. If you have a router, you have to connect this device from the router and that's where the problem starts. You can't place this device behind the firewall. It is not compatible with any latest router available in the market. Somehow I did able to make it work with a four year old router. The call quality is horrible/patchy on both sides. Sometimes my dialed call can't go through and I have to use my cellphone to make calls. It is very frustrating to wait and then talk to tech support who barely has any trouble shooting knowledge. Any trouble ticket they generate doesn't get updated. VOIP offers one of the best features in the market, but how good is that if the basic phone service doesn't work properly. I would definitely not recommend anyone to sign up their service.

Voip.com - stay away from this company. Their customer service is the worst in the business. You never get a live person and they do not respond to support tickets online. I singed up and they immediately charged my credit card about 1 month ago. I am still waiting for my hard ware - but they started billing me already even though they have not assigned me my phone # or sent me the hard ware to use their service. You will be happy to avoid this company.

The same as everyone else. It worked for the 1st few weeks, but when the number was changed to our phone number no calls can come in and the voice quality is terrible on outbound calls. I currently have all calls forwarding to a cell phone because I made the mistake of transferring my number to them (DON"T TRANSFER YOUR NUMBER TO THEM). I have tried email and many hours on hold (you will get disconnected when you think it's your turn) and nor response or canned email responses that are of no value. I will be canceling, but need to have my number transferred out and it will cost me. DON'T GO THROUGH THE AGONY OF DEALING WITH THEM...

Reviewers Comments:

Voip.com is worse than sunrocket. They have absolutely NO customer service. Signed up online and they immediately charged my credit card and sent a "tracking # " to FedEx. They did not ship a modem or soft phone as advertised. No phone # to call and they have been totally ignoring emails for 2 weeks. I have no phone service but their website has my account as active and receiving calls. If I try to call out I get a message saying that my service has been disconnected. People calling my # go immediately to a generic voicemail which I cannot modify even though the website says I have changed it. They refuse to ship the modem and soft phone as promised. You would think that they would at least give you an expected ship date if they are out of modems but total silence from VoiP.com . THEY JUST DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS !!!!!!!!!!! Weeks later tracking # at FedEx still says "Package data transmitted to FedEx " at 4:04 AM (obviously from some sales tech job outsourced to India) but no package shipped or received. Avoid this company and find one that actually has a service dept.

They are having major problems catching up with the void created by SunRocket. Long wait times on customer service. For A while I could not make outbound calls, after resetting everything many times still nothing. If you plan on having caller ID on your phone don't plan on it being complete. It does not handle cell phone calls well.. i.e. "cell phone tx", or "Miami Fla" That will be your read out. My dentist office here locally in tx records on caller ID "Anchorage AK" go figure. This morning my home Phone number is not working it has been disconnected. Any way stay away for a while until the problems get worked out. Right now THIS SUCKS

Reviewers Comments:

After moving from SUNROCKET, for the first day, using VOIP.COM, I was able to make and receive calls. Since after that, I was only able to receive the calls and all outgoing calls I get "UNABLE TO REACH THE NUMBER" message. Now it has been 7 days and the issue is not fixed. I had spent till now 18 hours of waiting on the phone ( minimum 2-3 hours of waiting for the customer support and when you are right at there, the line will get disconnected). I will never recommend this VOIP.COM service provider. VOIP.COM customer support never replies or update to the customer support tickets or emails if raised. They take all as "granted" like sunrocket closed one day all of sudden. The same experience I had with VONAGE. Finally ending up with the $10 cost of return shipment of the "telephone adapter" on my shoulder. None of these guys, send a return shipment form even if the problem is with them. Any one subscribing to these services is
