SUNROCKET SUCKS. DONT BUY SUNROCKET. SUE SUNROCKET. DOWN WITH
SUNROCKET...Here is the deal. They SUCK. I called the CEO, I called the VP of customer support. I sent endless amounts of emails, just trying to get the service to work. THE ONLY RESPONSE I EVER GOT was when my 1yr CONTRACT was up. Then they tried to ask me to sign up again. When I told them I tried to cancel my service 9 months ago when it :
a. ) STOPPED WORKING
b. ) NO ONE COULD FIX
c. ) NO ONE CALLED ME BACK.
She said "well that's a unique instance. Most of our customers don't have any problems like this." Yeah right. LOOK AT THE MESSAGE BOARDS YOU IGNORANT HUMAN or maybe your just LYING. I'M NOT SURE WHICH IS WORSE. TO all TAKE MY ADVICE DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT DONT buy this service. I'm at VIATALK now...they ROCK....BTW I'm in high tech and this post can NOT be mistaken for a non savvy tech/end user. I work in IT and am a networking IP professional....AGAIN THEY SUCK, capital SUCK......NO IFs ANDs or BUTs..... well maybe BUTTs.... you catch my drift.... THEY ARE HORRIBLE...
ViaTalk has very inconsistent service. They lack a knowledgeable support staff, and they have poor customer service. If I had it to do over, I would choose SunRocket. I went with ViaTalk for the free year, but it was not worth it.
I've had ViaTalk for about a week. I am going back to Verizon and will gladly pay the additional monthly fee (above what ViaTalk costs). Since I've had the service I've been plagued with:
- bad sound quality
- situations where people can't hear me
- DirecTV receivers can't connect
- takes a long time from the last button pressed to when it starts to ring
- "stuttering" calls.
I've gone on their forums to try various fixes, all to no avail. (Putting my device in a DMZ, etc...) Getting phone service should not be this much work. I should just plug in the device and off I go. The features of ViaTalk are great. The service on the other hand....ehhh. Their brutal cancellation fee of 50% sucks. (50% of $200 for only a week of service) This cancellation fee tells me that they aren't too confident in their service. I think a pro-rated refund minus some minimal (say $20) cancellation fee would be more appropriate.
I would not order ViaTalk again!! I am sure that if you are in an area with several competing services ViaTalk is ok. However, I am in one of those areas that has some difficulty getting
coverage (available in a nearby town). ViaTalk representatives gave me a 95% chance of porting my number (thus making the service usable). They never submitted the paperwork to port my number at first, waited until 31 days passed before they told me it could not port (money-back guarantee is only 30 days), then refused to give a full refund. Their customer service ALWAYS takes 1-3 days to reply by email. I have dealt with several companies online and this one has the WORST customer service I have seen. $199 for two years is a good deal, but sorry customer service isn't worth it!!
I've had the service for almost 3 months and it's been excellent. $200 for two years, you can't find a better deal anywhere. It was easy to set up and the calls are crystal clear. If you want to get the features and save big time then you should try them.
They have a great deal at $199, but BEWARE. This includes a 50% cancellation fee, which is $100 if the service doesn't meet expectations. They pretty much suck at customer service,
with canned responses, etc. The service wasn't good for me, but could be related to my wireless. I don't have a problem with that, BUT, the guarantee thing is a fake, basically, no way you could get the equipment, test it, and return it within 14 days. I thought the 50% was off of the first month, not $100. No phone cancellation, you have to do it online. Make sure you know exactly what you're getting and how reliable it will be before you shell out $200. You won't get it back.
IF you sign up with them:
1.YOU HAVE TO RETURN EVERY THING AFTER YOUR CONTRACT IS UP OR WHEN YOU CANCEL!!!! 2. SAVE YOUR BOX the Adapter came in OUR THEY CHARGE $5.00. 3. Ethernet CABLE $5.00. and so on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALSO, they want 1.95 per month Priority service or wait on hold for 20 to 45 minutes to get through, terrible. S T A Y A W A Y!!!!
Setup and phone # transfer went smooth as silk. Transfer was faster than I expected.
Connects 1 second slower than ordinary (Verizon) phone; and occasionally I need to hit the redial. Sound quality is only slightly worse -- and price and features are SO much better than ordinary phone service.
I have had 3 VoIP services and I have been please with all 3. I had lingo for one year then I went to Sunrocket on there 199.00 yearly plan and that plan was about to
expire and I found ViaTalk on this web site. Ordered on a Monday and received adapter the following Monday. Very easy to set up. I did get a head start on setting up all the calling features since u have access to there web portal before you get adapter....so far call quality is as good as it can get....I love all the features that I can customize to my own liking. I can set the incoming caller id to display what ever I want it to display. I can set different ring tones for different number and so many other features. I did buy one year get one year free. I was paying 81.00 a month for land line before I started using VoIP and I have been very pleased with each of the services. I emailed ViaTalk support at 1am and I got a response in 15 minutes and I asked a follow up question and again got a response in 30 min.....Order ViaTalk and save cash.
Five days before our one year contract with Viatalk was up, my wife called to confirm that the
account would not be automatically renewed and to get an address to send the phone adapter to--we were not real happy with the sound quality and customer service. A day later our phone service was out. They had cancelled our service immediately (four days early) and refused to reconnect without a $30 reconnect fee. My wife paid the fee because we were in the process of moving and needed access to important voice mails. They charged us the $30 but didn't reconnect. They have pretty good rates, but take a couple days to respond to emails, keep you on hold for 30 minutes when you try to call, and rip you off when you try to discontinue service. AVOID VIATALK.
I've just paid $200 for two full years of service!! I wasn't too sure what to expect for that price
but it was an offer I could not refuse. The equipment arrived in a few days and it was so easy to set up. Sound quality is excellent, features are good certainly a lot better than my landline. I have not talked to customer service so I didn't want to give them a 5 star but if the product is anything to go by then their customer services should be good. I'm telling all my friend to at least try it particularly since the special is so good. Great site guys lots of good info. Becks
I had Vonage before Viatalk and I would have to say sound quality with Vonage was a bit
better. But for 199 dollars for two years ??? wow.... plus some taxes .....this a deal I couldn't refuse. It is definitely a good deal and so far very good customer service. Only time will tell, how good this deal is........Will this company survive for two years? Will they have good service and good value for two years? I hope so!! Way to go Viatalk, keep a good thing going! Okay? Please .........
Only after one week of service I had made numerous calls to Tech Support; sometime making
several calls for the same issue several times a day. The sound quality is horrific. The only thing that they seemed to do well was charge my credit card. I was double and tripled billed for services, and when I cancelled was immediately billed $50. I would not recommend this company at all, and would suggest before trying them you revert to a string and tin can.
