SunRocket is simply not reliable. It is silly, it is always, about
20 times a week down for a period of time. It dials then gets a busy
signal for no reason, it will do that for up to an hour. They will
loose there network for hours and in some cases a whole day or two.
It is not (not not not) a primary line if you need reliability.
Also, privacy issues I have had a call waiting call enter into my
other call. Bad at this stage s6nrocket customers are test rats.
I just find it funny for everyone who rates this service BAD. Let
me ask these people a question, why did you sign up for SunRocket?
Let me guess...you heard they were reliable. NO...99% of SunRocket
subscribers were looking to save a buck. Let's be honest, if you're
on a budget and looking for a car, you're not exactly going to the
Jaguar Dealership. Give the Company it's due.......Its a startup,
new, and has a long way to go....but I recommend it for the same
reasons I signed up for it. I knew it had challenges, I recently
moved, and I was looking to save $$ on my phone bill. I am saving
$$, have my cell phone as back up, and I much rather be spending $60
a month on my cell phone and $199 for the YEAR...as opposed to
donating $60 bucks and close to $1000 to the Verizon rip-off fund.
Horrible Customer service. One always should pray that it works
without any problem. If problem comes you just should live at the
mercy of customer service which is the lousiest thing one can ever
imagine. They will ask you to reboot modem, router and computer once
or twice, obviously without any result. Then will take alternate
number telling that their level 2 customer service will get back...
God only knows if they really exist as I never got a call back from
them.... I have taken connection by transferring number from
previous carrier.... once the number changed it took literally 10
days (at least 25 calls to customer service) for it to work....
Now again I have problem... God only knows when it gets
resolved.......
I had this service and it seemed to work fine until I switched to
Speakeasy DSL and then it would give a busy signal on all outgoing
calls. Customer service is terrible. I spent 2 hours on hold to
get in the level 2 tech queue. It's been over 24 hours and the
level 2 tech hasn't fixed the problem. They have had 2 major outages
in the past month, and if you browse the internet you can find
reports of problems all summer with Sunrocket. If you want to save
money and not have service, this is a good plan for you.
If you don't mind callers regularly not getting through, not getting
voice mail, and sometimes getting strange messages saying the number
is not available, and also don't mind that a least once a month you
probably cannot make calls for a few hours when you need to (who
knows how often it really doesn't work), and all you care about it
price and great international rates. Sunrocket is okay. Otherwise
maybe you should keep shopping. I keep thinking if I wait longer it
will get better....But it doesn't....
The first Gizmo was lost. It took nearly a month to come on line
after signing up. From the beginning the gizmo went down nearly
daily that or their entire network was down. Comcast diagnosed the
Gizmo causing latency in the internet connection. SR later bitched
because it wasn't the proper 'A' config. A longer story short - the
gizmo crashed at least once a day every day from March 'til August.
It wasn't until I raised a serious stink I recv'd a replacement
Gizmo. After a number of emails to member services (which typically
are not responded to.) I emailed and said I might be sending two
back unless I got a response. - They disconnected me.
I had to call this morning to have the service turned back on. BTW -
There VRU was broke and would only go to memberservices ( thank god
) and their policy is to only discontinue service by a phone call. I
rated Features as OK - Many features did not work until May. Ease of
set up OK there were issues getting my link up. !Run! - Do Not Walk
from this service!
They can't seem to get a handle on the outages. They are every day
now. Sometime for an hour....Sometimes for over 2 days. Now, to
bug me even more, I can't get the darn voice mail light to stop
blinking on my phones. The service is not worth the savings.
I made a huge mistake trusting my money to SunRocket. WIth a new
baby on the way, I should have spent a little extra for a "land
line" The service is out OFTEN. If you plan on actually USING your
internet connection AND talking on the phone. FORGET ABOUT IT.
If you stream music, play any online games, or download files, the
phone service will either not function AT ALL, or will work on a 1
in 50 occurrences. Calls don't go through, sound like your
underwater etc. Wait for the kinks to get ironed out. Then
invest in the new tech.
SR has very nice sound quality, decent rates, and helpful customer
service. They are also the kings of outages and service
interruptions. I'm barely ever home yet lately I can't use my phone
half the time. I'm dumping them the moment I find a replacement
plan.
Too many service outages. At least I was not able to use the Phone
for 4 days in the last 2 weeks. Major service outage and not able to
reach the customer support. The worst thing is, for incoming calls
during an outage, the caller gets a automated voice stating "phone
is disconnected". Based on these kind of irritating/irresponsible
messages I would call their system is totally crazy. Their website
shows there is a service outage but why the heck the caller gets
"telephone disconnected message".
When the system works, it is great and the features are super. I
found the current log on MyAccount website invaluable to track calls
I lost due to the unreliability of the system. On average, I would
say I have an 80% up time and 20% down time. The down time during
what I judge as normal service is extremely frustrating and
completely unacceptable. I have not had any service today (Sept 9,
05) for 22 hours and counting! Sunrocket's status comment: "Sunrocket
is currently experiencing a service degradation. Our engineers are
working diligently to find a resolution as soon as possible. Thank
you for your continued patience in this matter. If your Gizmo has no
Voice light and/or no dialtone , then please power cycle your Gizmo.
Please check back later for updates". Recycling power has done
nothing. I am ready to go back to regular phone service.
Easy to order. Set-up says before router, no tech say maybe best to
use output from router. Features good. Sound poor lots and lots of
echos. Reliability terrible, sometimes can't call in, sometimes
out, sometimes both. Customer service not informative. Its cheap.
I did recommend this early on, I'm sorry I did.
