Had been a Lingo customer for a few months. After becoming very
upset and loosing important calls I did the research and found the
winner. So far, I have had no problems with SunRocket. They have
done what they said they would do and more. The other day there was
an outage for an hour or so. They put a 10 point credit on ALL
customer accounts for the mistake they made. I highly suggest
switching to SunRocket. It is easy to order, setup and manage. Their
customer service reps are easy to understand and give great
direction. Don't be afraid...switch now! I'm so happy I do not have
to wait in fear of what my next bill will be. I know it is going to
be the same great rate every single month...never higher, never
lower! Thanks SunRocket!
A few glitches but overall great service. I paid more in taxes than
I do now per month and I love not getting a bill for a year. I use
my cell as a backup but so far so good. Once in a while (during peak
times 4-5pm, etc.) it sounds like someone is stuttering. The 3-way
calling which I use a lot is difficult to work. The online phone log
and contacts (you can use the computer to dial) is wonderful. Can't
wait till I can upload my outlook.
I have had 2-7 hour outages on the average of twice a month for the
past four months. And usually you don't know that you are not
receiving incoming calls until you try to make an outgoing one and
discover there is a problem. Typically there is no announcement on
their Web site until well into the outage and then the message is
generic with no indication of when the outage began, how long it
might last, and what number to call (assuming, of course, you have a
backup cell or land system). An up-front message on their 800 number
confirming an outage might satisfy some callers who simply want
verification that there is a problem and can wait it out. When
you finally reach a customer service rep, he/she might be
apologetic, but really not much more useful than that. After
enduring a more than 7 hour outage today, I came within a nanosecond
of bailing out - - after making other service arrangements. I have
family traveling overseas with whom I was unable to communicate most
of the day. That is not conducive to a warm and fuzzy feeling about
SunRocket's performance and reliability. Sure the price is right,
but I'm beginning to get the idea that I'm getting what I paid for.
Main issues are that SunRocket's customer service Sucks! Sucks!
Sucks! It's one of the worst out there, even worse than Vonage. I
requested an LNP from ATT March 17 and as of July 9 still hasn't
happened. I've had multiple email chains with multiple people;
threatened to drop them twice and they still can't communicate among
themselves. I dropped them today and asked for a full refund. I
have reported them to the AZ Atty General's Office for
investigation.
As far as Sunrocket goes - I had a couple of initial problems that
got dealt with and now it's been running problem free for several
weeks now. They were having issues with caller ID and that too got
resolved. Frankly - I'm loving this service! This has to be the best
thing since sliced bread! They ported my number over no problem and
save for a slightly slow website when dealing with contacts - I
think it's a great service. You just can't beat the price! $200
bucks a year for every feature in the book and 0 long distance
charges! Wow.
Early on in service, haven't transferred my land line # yet. Easy to
set up, no problems with linksys router. I have the phone (gizmo)
router between the cable modem and network router. So far so good.
THANK YOU Sunrocket for the included Uniden 2.4Ghz dual phone
package...with no set up charges...what fantastic incentive!! Just
remember to dial the area code for all calls...no problem for me.
I've had this service for 5 months now. They were fine for the first
four months but the wheels suddenly came off and so far they've
shown no indication they'll ever be able to fix it. My ratings are
affected by the price I paid. If nothing else, Sunrocket is cheap.
For $17 a month, I'll accept tinny sounding calls with echoes once
in a while. That's why I rated the sound quality good. It's good for
the price. If I were paying $50 a month for the same service, my
rating would be poor for the same sound quality. I rated the
features poor because so few of them work, or at least reliably. The
caller id doesn't work, call forwarding doesn't work if their system
is down, (it happens quite often) their call waiting signal causes
your call to be interrupted and dropped etc. etc. If all of their
features worked, it would be great. Customer service is manned by a
bunch of clueless drones who respond to your questions with
pre-written answers that they read from a manual. If your question
is not in their book, you're out of luck. I gave it a bad rating for
value not because of the price but because any service is worthless
if it doesn't work. Even at $1 a month, Sunrocket is a bad deal.
I have had Sunrocket for approximately two months now. As much as I
love saving the money on phone bills, the trade off is irratic
service. Sunrocket is definitely NOT seamless, with many outages
frequently. I have spent far too much time calling customer service,
unhooking the power, rebooting, reconfiguring, etc. There are
glitches, like the woman who comes on after my incoming announcement
for callers...don't need her voice too! I have asked that there be
more than the 20 message capability on voice mail...which they
emailed me and said they would be looking at. Not having the Caller
ID name is a pain....again, they emailed me to say that it would be
up and running on May 25....we'll see. I can put up with the
glitches...it is the outages and "absence of sound" in frequent
calls that is so frustrating. I wrote Sunrocket that they should
stop taking more customers until they work out the glitches. I agree
with a previous post that Sunrocket should email when there are
outages...even tho' I have NEVER had an outage with previous phone
or my internet provider, when my phone service goes out now, I have
to take the time to see if it's the internet provider and, when
these outages occur, the internet goes with it! I will see how the
next 6 months go to decide whether the cost savings is worth the
aggravation!
Service has gone from very good to dismal. Their entire system goes
down for several hours every day. It's so bad they don't even bother
to offer an explanation, just empty apologies. Avoid these people
like the plague.
Overall I am pleased with the service. Customer support is quite
good, considering the years of torture I experienced and still do
with companies many times their size. Coming from the world of
telecommunications, I do realize that stuff will happen and if this
amounts to a temporary outage, ok. Would be nice if they would
always, they do sometimes, advise their users via email of major
outages or problems, such as the outage yesterday. The icing on the
cake would be for them to ultimately provide an automatic rollover
to a second designated number (cell) in the event SR goes down
completely. My 911 is and has been fine and the sound quality has
been as good as my POTS. I don't use a router but will shortly do
some tweaking with the QOS settings on the adapter.
Very shortly I expect to begin the LNP for my main POTS number....
I subscribed to sunrocket early this month. Like everyone else, I
did a lot of online research and read other users' reviews before I
decided which VoIP companies I should choose. I was hesitated to
switch over to VoIP phone concern on the reliability of the new VoIP
technology. I believe I have made a wise choice! I am totally sold
out with SunRocket. I got my SunRocket adapter within a week after I
ordered it online; plus I got my free Uniden cellphones in the same
box. Hooked up to my Linksys router within 5 minutes and that's it.
Made some international calls right away ($3 free call/ month) and
the quality is definitely much better than that of the cell phone's
(Verizon). I did have a minor problem on the 4th day. I was not able
to use my Verizon cell phone to call into the VoIP phone. Checked
with Verizon and SunRocket. Customer Service from SunRocket is
courteous and solve my problem in 3 days.
Right now I am enjoying all the nice features that SunRocket has
provided and pratically save more than $500 annually on my home
phone. I have DSL line so has to retain my landline with SBC but
then changed my service to basic measure rate (only $5.70/ month).
