Reviewers Comments: I recently decided to do away with the normal Verizon copper line and go with VoIP
completely. After playing with VoIP for a while now, testing it out and feeling
comfortable with it, I was now ready to switch the whole house over. Because of this, I
already had my own hardware so I wanted some place which would let me bring it with me and
was reliable. After spending a whole day researching providers, I came up with Quantum
Voice. I liked the reviews I read, and I have to agree with everyone who says it's very
reliable, good quality, but poor portal website. I also liked how they have a bunch of
different spiffy features, but don't force you to use them. If you want someone which will
just provide you an outgoing and incoming SIP channel reliably, these people are it. Plus
they've been in business for a while now, which you can't say that with a lot of other
companies. I originally was going to port my existing number, but decided to just get a
new one, and it was up and running in about a day. The only weird thing is you need to
currently call them to order new service, I guess to cut down on fraud, which I liked to
see them doing that. They just get preliminary information on the phone, like your name,
email address, and check to make sure your number can be ported if you want that. They
then email you the order forms, which you can then call back with your credit card
information. Setup was easy also. They provide sample configurations on their website.
Right after I got my account info, i was able to make outgoing calls in about 5 minutes.
Incoming didn't want to come through at all, and it seemed at first to be on their end
since I wasn't getting any data from them what-so-ever when a call came in. Called them up
and answered within maybe 15 seconds. They tested everything while I was on the phone, can
came back and said it was me. Funny I thought, but after that I discovered my router was
being flaky, and now everything is working well. |
