After paying $80.00 monthly for a Verizon landline I decided to dump it and go with VOIP.
Ran across Phone.com while browsing and decided to give it a shot after chatting online
with their CSR (Juan). Ordered on Monday, received ATA via FedEx ground on Wednesday. ATA
Install was purely Plug & Play and done in minutes. Call quality is excellent and very
close to my landline (a very pleasant surprise), both on long distance and local calls. I
have the 200 minute plan at $10.00 a month. I have Verizon DSL at the slower 768/128 speed.
Great set of features and a very useful web based control panel. I selected a new phone
number from them rather than porting my home number which I plan on doing later after I
officially disconnect my Verizon landline. Great communication from Phone.com prior to me
receiving the ATA such as user id, password, instructions, etc. Very impressed with the
entire process and would certainly recommend Phone.com to anyone.
Hi all !
I signed up for the free trial to this VOIP provider after someone recommended it to me. It
is the best deal because it is free and you should give it a try. I called them to ask a
question and I received a courteous, professional customer support service. Try it while
the free offer lasts.
I will post a more extensive review once I try out this service fully.

Absolutely one of the worst company out there.
Customer Service is a joke - you usually have to wait 1-2 days for them to call you back
and if they leave a message on your VoIP line that doesn't work, you will have to call back
and go through the exercise all over again.
The Quality is inconsistent at best.
The voicemail function is a SCAM. It doesn't work
Buyer beware.
JoiPhone
has an F rating with the Florida Better Business Bureau. Their Slogan when you call their phone # is We Bring Joy to your life. NOT!!!!!!!
We called JoiPhone they would not do anything over the phone as far as
billing. They told us we had to email them. We did 4 times no response over a 1
month time frame. They owe us 6-8 months credit which they said we would get for all of the
down time and service failures. They also said they would exchange out our router with the
new VoIP router to fix the problems we were having but now they are saying we
have to pay for 2 more years upfront to get the router or buy it outright
which is not what they told us and amounts to blackmail. They also give this
new router away free to new customers, yet do not care about supporting
existing paying customers or keeping their word. Furthermore their service
is misleading and false advertising as the router we currently have is
supposed to be a router and support multiple computers, 2 phone lines over a
broadband connection. After 8 months we find out that that is not the case.
Then they confirm this with us because of all of the headaches. Then we were
told again we would be getting 6-8 months of credit to our account and the
new router which is a real router and supports what we signed up for in the
first place. We signed up for a 2 year plan with them which provided a free
router. This router has been exchanged 3 times in about 1 year time. Yet
they now refuse to send us their new router for some reason even when they
told us they would, along with crediting us with 6-8 months due to downtime.
CallWithUs is a smaller VoIP provider which provides great service at great prices. It's a
plan which gives you the freedom to select and provide your own telephone adapter,
softphone, or other VoIP device. The benefit is well worth it. The rates are fantastic,
and there are no minimums and NO monthly fees. If you wish to purchase an inbound number,
those are available too, or you also have the freedom to use a DID number from elsewhere at
no extra cost.
The website does not look fancy, but that's misleading. CallWithUs emphasizes providing
good, reliable, economical service, rather than looking flashy.
The only good thing about Reliaclear is the price. They give terrible customer service, seems
like there is only one person per section on any given day (I called and was informed
that "Billing" wasn't at work that day). They keep a horrible record of payment. Never had I
missed a payment when I received a seemingly threatening letter informing me of my new
compound balance and late fees as they hadn't received a payment in a few months. Not only
did they receive payment every month but I was able to monitor when the money was
withdrawn from my account by them. When they demanded to see statements, it took them
3 weeks to acknowledge the payments and by then another bill was past due, (because no
person in their right mind would send another payment into cyberspace after the last 2 hadn't
yet been acknowledged)- accumulating new late fees. This has happened to me at least 3
times. Besides customer service the quality of service is horrible. If a conversation goes past
one hour you are often disconnected. When somebody speaks too softly the noise is not
transferred. If speaking too loudly, a beep cuts you off and the person on the alternate end of
the line is silenced out, forcing you to hang up and redial. Throughout conversations, notable
answering machine beeps are heard prompting a sneaking suspicion of monitoring.
Nonetheless, I have stuck with them without direct complaining, as I guess you get what you
pay for at $14.99 per month. I would recommend it only if you are willing to deal with
conversations being disrupted at least 3 times a day (no over exaggeration). I would not
recommend Reliaclear to anybody who runs a business out of their homes or needs firm
security.
Many friends are using Acanac VoIP phone service (together with low-cost Internet service)
for several months so I decided to try it.
One of the good things that Acanac offers is a free 1-year VoIP account for certain
Canadian areas with real PSTN number.
I am using a Montreal based number (514) and ether SoftPhone or Sipura SPA-1001 ATA
device.
In both cases, the voice quality is good and setup is straightforward.
If you have some generic VoIP configuration’s procedure background, the overall process
should be pretty easy and it takes about 20-30 min to make everything working properly.
I don’t have long experience with the service yet, but generally,
I could say it is a good VoIP choice. No down time so far, good voice quality, easy operation
etc.
Pros:
Excellent alternative to a regular phone line
Reliable
911-service is OK
Free US Canada Calls
Good long distance rates
Your account settings are accessible online, allowing you to
change some parameters like Voice Mail etc.
Cons:
Support is mainly on e-mail / ticketing / user forums FAQ system.
Quality sometimes could be slightly reduced.
Recommended.
This is the worse experience I have every had. I can not tell you have the phone service is
because it has been over a month and we still do not have the service, worse then that I can
not get the company to return a call, not even after sending them a termination letter. If you
do not want to spend every day leaving messages for help, I suggest not using this group.
Me and my husband were shopping around for VOIP provider better than what we had in past.
We checked many but finally got convience by Digitalk8.com . They are very
professional
and technical and the best part is there are no cost to you for 30 days free
trial. They even ship the device free and let you use the phone line for 30
day for free. We also requested them to do the number porting for free. We
also notice on their website that they are very active in Canada and they
also provide VOIP + DSL service in Canada. Feel free to check them out and
save money on phone bills. It does not hurt as 30 days of trial is free
without any hidden charges.
Stay away from ITALKBB. They blocked calls from their customers to us after we
terminated their
services and use another service. We have to complaint to county consumer affair office to get it
resolved and get our service unblocked. They sent us collection notice for the charges we did not
owe. They cut off our service before our 14 month usage was due after they failed to charge our
credit card, they wanted the "free equipment" back. So they said we owe them 104 dollars and if
we sent back the equipment, then we did not have to pay for the fee! How absurd!!
Bad quality, bad service, fraudulent business practice.
Be aware what they advertise. They might not give you what they advertise.
The quality is not good. Calling to China is not as good as using a calling card. My friend told me
to use the panda china card which never expires. There is really no need to use this company's
service.
Everyone knows SunRocket by now and they're good until that dreaded day when without
warning most of its subs left with no service at all without warning! Since I decided not
to sign up with any provider with "plans" I looked up the net for pay as you go
VoIP so I
can get out quickly just in case I don't like the service. As it turned out, I got lucky
with my first choice which is Onesuite.
Aside from its pay as you go "plan" I like their transparent billing/call records that can
be accessed anytime online aside from other useful features like you can use your account
also as a phone card.
Their sales people are really good to get you on the hook. But the voice quality and
service are really BAD!!!! When you want to cancel, it's very hard to get connected to
them. Many times you get confused in terms of how to get it really canceled. They ask you
to send your box back on your own expense and never pay you back any amount left. When one
year contract expires and if you want to discontinue, they ask you to call them on an exact
date they ask you, not before and not after. Otherwise they will charge you directly from
your credit card. Once they got your credit card information in their system, there's no
way for you to remove it from their website! The experience with them has been HORRIBLE!!!!
Is there any regulator we can go to to file a complain?
