With in a couple of days of ordering the service I had it up and running on my computer with a
soft phone. Today I just received a Linksys PAP2T Phone adapter that I had
ordered online,
and in less than 15 minutes I had it up and running. So far I've been very impressed with the
features offered especially for the price.
The worst customer service I've talked to ever!
They charge the whole month no matter when you cancel the service during the month WITHOUT
letting you know. In the mean time, they stop the service right after your call and ask you
to send back the equipment immediately.
I ordered VOIP through Charter Cable bundled with my internet. So far so good. I have not had
one performance issue with their service. Because of the bundle, the cost is the same as
Viatalk service but I'm getting a lot more performance for the buck. Charters voice quality is
superb with no hiccups. Viatalk does have a great concept with their customer enhancement
website but would never trade the reliability that I'm getting from Charter VOIP. In fact it has
been better that my old AT&T.
I just got my first VOIP from acanac. Quality is just amazing. Better than my previous
landline (no-VOIP) phone from bell. Acanac is offering 500 free acounts for one year in the
cities of Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and London (Canada). Regular residential
unlimited plan to US and Canada is just $9.95 including tax, including tons of features.
Isn't it great? Where else can you find such plan with such great quality? I applied for
free account online and was processed right away. Next day I got my phone number. So far I
did not have chance to get phone support but I did send them questions by e-mail and got
replied same day. This is my first experience with any VOIP and it is great.
CallCentric is a month to month service without contracts or cancellation charges and can be
used on a pay per minute plan. I am paying $1.95 per month and 1.5 cents a minute for a
phone number and incoming calls. Outgoing calls are 1.98 cents per minute. Unlimited
plans are available for both incoming and outgoing calls. A number can be ported in for
$25.00. I am currently stuck with Voip.com, and have both services coming in via a Linksys
PAP2 2 line adapter. Outgoing calls are almost instantaneous over the CallCentric line but
subject to delays or no completion via Voip.com. Incoming calls over Voip.com are
unsatisfactory over Voip.com, but since I have set Voip.com to transfer all incoming calls to
CallCentric, service has been excellent.
Service, via Trouble Tickets, had been excellent on CallCentric. It is almost impossible to get
a timely response from Voip.com
Ordered Free VOIP service
Setup took 5 minutes
Service is more reliable that my other VOIP paid service
More features than my paid service
Better Support than my paid service
If you get lucky and don't have any problems with the service, you might consider them OK.
But I had a lot of problems and horrible experience with Joiphone. They could not port my
number for 2 month and my inbound service was down for over a week - they could not find a
problem. After I cancelled the service, they did not refund all the money. Customer service
was just terrible.
Hawk Communications LLC dba JoiPhone is a corrupt VOIP company who has committed
the following illegal acts against me:
Breach of Contract: I never received the equipment or my money back as provided under the
TOS, even after receiving confirmation that my account was canceled.
Unjust Enrichment: In addition to taking the money I paid for their service, which I never
received, they have repetitively charged my credit card 4 times so far in the amount of
$200.00 each time with no explanation. All requests for explanation of these charges have
been ignored. I have received nothing of value from this company, yet they have stolen over
$1,200 of my money.
Fraud: They have engaged in false advertisement and misleading sales pitches, including the
use of the word "Unlimited" when referring to their VOIP phone service, which, in reality, is
severely limited. There is very vague verbiage in their Terms of Service that says using the
phone more than 5 times the "average" residential line is considered "abuse of the system."
Basically, if you use the phone more than they want you to, despite the lines being advertised
as UNLIMITED, they can charge you fees, and/or discontinue your service, while keeping all
of the money you prepaid. There are reports of very limited amounts of usage resulting in this
type of activity. For example, one customer received a threat of cancellation after using the
phone for 500 minutes over the course of 15 days - does that sound like UNLIMITED to you?
There are also reports that any call longer than 60 minutes is viewed as "abuse" and can
result in your line being blocked.
They also advertise a 30 day no risk guarantee, yet they do not even deliver the equipment
required to initiate the service within 30 days, thereby ensuring that if you wait for the
equipment, you have no recourse under the 30 day guarantee. Also, if you do cancel, as I did,
within the 30 day period without ever having received equipment or using the service, they do
not return your money.
Embezzlement: I entrusted them with access to my credit card account and after they
confirmed my account cancellation, they charged my credit card four additional times so far
with absolutely no justification. I do not have a service with them, so any justification based
on a "Terms of Service" policy is unjust.
This company fails to meet their obligations, outright lies to its prospective customers, and
engages in fraudulent activity.
It is also worth noting that Hawk Communications dba JoiInternet was found guilty of many of
these practices in Atlanta, GA, including false advertising, breach of contract, and limited
access. There was a settlement involved, and the company suddenly folded, leaving many
customers without service that they prepaid for.
Several companies that were subsidiaries of Hawk Communications have folded
unexpectedly. The reason this matters is because almost all of the deals JoiPhone offers
involve prepayment for 12-24 months of service. Personally, I find it highly unlikely that
JoiPhone will be around long enough to fulfill these contracts, and based on their current
behavior and the actions of former Hawk Communications companies, I have a feeling many
JoiPhone customers will soon be out a great deal of money and have no service.
If you do take the risk of signing up with this company, I URGE you to sign up for a monthly
plan with no prepayment and give it 6 months or so to ensure the service is worth continuing.
If you want to see more info on this corrupt company, check out the BBB info on Hawk
Communications LLC, Joi Internet, and JoiPhone. All of them have unsatisfactory ratings with
the BBB.
I got the instructions to download the softphone and all my account info within 24 hours of ordering
over the internet. Setup was very easy and the quality of voice is excellent.
I will buy my own ATA and connect a phone to it.
Hi
My friend recommended me Adepto Telecom. Basically they give you an opportunity to call
anywhere in the world for less than 0.3 USD per minute using your PC (no software and
headphones needed :-), wap enabled mobile, landline and simple mobile phone.
Great convenient services. I would recommend them as you do not always have internet, PC
and headphones around :-).
Regards to all.
