I have a 1 year plan that expires next month. You can get no informtion on the "new" rates until it is 1 month before your expiration even if you contact customer service. There are online offers that do NOT state they are for new customers only. In order to get them you have to get a new phone number (didn't complete but appears it would go through) or contact Phonepower and hope to get the plan. Fortunately I had contacted them in NOV 2011 and advised of the cheaper plans. They said I would get the BEST PLAN they had available when my renewal time came up. I DID NOT. Not even the current lower cost plan on their website. Contacted them and they authorized a 1 time approval of the offered online plan but I would not get any offer again. Their monthly rates are way too high. I am good for 2 years and then will seak out another provider. This is a good provider they reply to emails fast but the quality of the phone service (not customer service) can be hit and miss. Second clone line is useless so don't depend on it. Phone calls drop off a lot and can be scratchy. I deal with the glitches because the plan is a good price and I am not phone dependant. 2 year comes out to about $10.60 a month including second year taxes that I will pay next year seperately. The taxes and fees are almost as much as the service but for all of the options offered it is a good price. I recommend the service for someone who wants/needs a land line for low usage and emergency.
