Nextiva was founded in 2006 and are a privately owned company. They are considered a leading provider of business VoIP phone service to small, medium and large businesses across the United States. Nextiva's primary focus was initially on business VoIP phone systems but they also provide hosted call center services, PBX SIP trunk services, and a very competitive internet faxing solution today.
Service includes many of the standard VoIP features plus other neat features such as a free greeting recording, mobile phone integration, a Nextiva toolbar that integrates with Outlook, IE and Firefox browsers, softphone support, toll free numbers and it also sells IP phones for low cost. Add-ons include options such as call recording and conference calling (for up to 9 attendees).
Smartphone App is available for both Android and iOS devices. The App provides a comprehensive set of business telephony features that include instant messaging, presence, video collaboration and voice calling among many others.

The website is very easy to navigate and it is immediately obvious as to what services the company offers. The easy navigation also makes it simple to quickly find more information on a specific service. While many providers have overly complicated websites, Nextiva has made it easy for both existing and prospective customers to quickly find what they need..
The Mobile App is not included with the Office Pro plan and the Office Pro Plus plan is required at minimum. As businesses are quickly moving to a BYOD model this may be an issue for some prospective customers that are looking at the lowest cost plan.
Support does not appear to be available via any form of social media despite a heavy presence by Nextiva in Facebook, Twitter, etc.
The conference bridge feature is not available with the Office Pro plan.
Nextiva is marketing its support service in the form of a virtual assistant called XBert. While this is an interesting and potentially differentiating approach, it may be confusing to some who may think is a specific service offering.
Although an extensive feature set is available for business phone service, there are currently no plug-ins available that allow integration with a CRM solution.

Great customer service based here in the USA. Problems or question are resolved quickly in 1 phone call with someone who understands me without having to repeat the question 3 times and without having to assure me that they will solve the problem.

We've been looking for a hosted PBX for a number of weeks before we went with Nextiva just over three months ago. Their features were very attractive and the fact that they charge a fixed price was a deciding factor. Customer care was really good in helping us get set up and we're very happy with it so far. Switching to a VOIP phone service from cable has been a tedious and long process - also cost more to switch than first anticipated because you can't release the prior provider until all numbers are ported - which takes a long time - so you pay double for awhile - however, customer service was always responsive and dealt with problems promptly as they came up

I'm saving about 40% on phone costs with Nextiva compared to my old land line phone system. The free minutes are another heaven sent. The interface is really helpful, because you can track everything online. From call logs to faxes and voicemails, it's all there. The equipment is of high quality and the call greetings, music and call waiting offers a lot of fantastic features. Nextiva is perfect for businesses who want to save money and still have a quality phone system with useful features and flexible options.

Before I signed up with Nextiva I was with Ringcentral. Ringcentral was fine, but after an outage and the ongoing outsourced support, I made the choice to find a different phone provider. Last night I had the task of migrating our phone settings over to Nextiva. I needed help, so I called their tech support to help point me in the right direction. Not only did their tech support explain how I should have done everything, he actually stayed on the phone while I programmed everything in my office. He was patient, smart, and funny. This went from being a potentially dangerous situation with downtime the next morning in my office to a seamless move to Nextiva. When researching who to go with for service instead of Ringcentral, I was suspicious of all the positive reviews online. Not only for Nextiva but all the other companies as well. Not to mention, I cannot believe anyone rating Ringcentral highly. I can, however, say that Nextiva does deserve its high ratings. If you're thinking of choosing a new phone provider, don't pass on Nextiva.

What can I say about Nextiva? Well, my business is all online and mobile and paperless and free and unbound. Nextiva appeals to all of those qualities of my business. Their solutions fit my small business perfectly, and on top of that, their rates are really competitive. I like that I can use my cell phone with my 800 number. That means I can save money when I'm not in the office. At the same time, I can respond to calls and text messages right away, if I want, making me look even more professional. I once had an issue with calls that dropped, but when I called, they already knew about the problem and their engineers were working on it. I was concerned at first, when I was researching different VoIP providers. In the end I decided to go with Nextiva because the sales staff were really helpful when I did online chat with them. They answered all my questions expertly and understood my concerns, which I'm happy to report, were unfounded. Nextiva's service and offering both really exceeded my expectations and I will keep using it. As my business grows, I will add more products and features to the mix, but I will always stick with this company.

It's a simple service. I bought Nextiva when I moved offices in December. My employees like these phones much more than the Toshiba ones and they look better. The customer service people are great, they are helpful and kind.

Service was good for quite a while and then we had some massive reliability issues. They were resolved for a good period and now WHAM the last 2 months we have more outages and reliability issues than we had all year. This last one has now lasted for 5+ hours and no one can tell me when it will be fixed. Not a happy customer!
