Can we make long distance calls using VOIP network?
Can we make long distance calls using VOIP network?
Yes that is the main benefit, long distance and international calls are often free (well included in monthly fee). The voice packets travel over the internet backbone so it doesn't matter if you're calling one block over or another continent. The internet is not heavily taxed....unlike the telephony infrastructure in this country.
Andy
if i have a number from the city north of me which is normally long distance (since my city isnt an option on here) is it long distance for people to call my softphone number? or can anyone anywhere call my number as a local number?
Voip has changed our way of making calls i believe. I have used land line for a long long time. But with new voip products in market i think these are giving bit competition to other landlines provider companies. For example vonage, magicjack specially it's really great. I have one magic jack connection as it's free to make calls for whole year and saving me a lot. You can try magic jack or other available voip services. With their magic talk software which you install on your PC you can still make free calls any where in US and Canada.
Good Luck buddy..
