I have a Lucent PBX with 4 outgoing lines. Can anyone explain how we would integrate VoIP with this system.
Thanks.

Steve,
As the PBX is currently handling the routing of your calls from pots to pots or pots to TDM it is unlikely that you will be able to continue using it, if you want to switch to VoIP. To migrate to VoIP you will need some kind of IP based call agent to handle the call control. There are various options available for this depending on which signaling protocol you wish to use, whether it be SIP, MGCP or H.323.
For further information check out our "VoIP Solution for the Large Business" section at this URL:

Also see our FREE search engine for VoIP companies that handle this kind of configuration:

Hope this helps.

Steve,
When trying to use a hardware PBX designed to work with pot lines with your VoIP service, your going to have extreme difficulty integrating the two.
I work for a company called Aptela. I would like to speak to you about an option that will eliminate the need for your old PBX. Our VoIP service gives you free access to a HOSTED PBX. Our system will give you much more functionality for your phone system and will easily integrate your entire business.
Please give me a call when you get a chance so I can give you a demo of our service and then you will see how going with a hosted PBX is a much more cheaper and advanced method of routing calls within your business.
Sincerely,
Trevor Soares, Acct Exec.
