Default Unable to get inbound calls after number transfer

I signed up for SunRocket VOIP and since transferring my household phone # on Aug. 7/06 I have not been able to get inbound calls. As of today Aug. 30/06 I still have not been able to get inbound calls. Member services techs have not been helpful...any suggestions? I have no problem making outbound calls.

Wow this is really bad. They have screwed up the porting of your number. What happens when you try calling your household number from a different phone (like your cell or work phone)? Does it ring somewhere else or is it just "number does not exist"?

I would call your old phone company and close the loop with them by making sure they did not screw up. Then, unfortunately, you have little option other than to percivere with the sunrocket techs. Try escalating to their supervisor and threaten to cancel the service.

Sunrocket is a good provider but their techs have to pushed a bit unfortunately.

Let us know how things progress and if you have more questions.

Yeah, that was kinda what I expected you to hear unfortunately. Your old home number is lying in limbo right now.

What about the number sunrocket gave you and you were using before you tried the number port. Does that still accept incoming?

Sunrocket need to ensure that your old phone company has ported it to them. They would then route the calls to you.

Percivere with the sunrocket techs. Hopefully next time you call you get someone who is helpful and knowledgable.

the number sunrocket gave me when i signed up works on inbound calls.
when i got email that my home number was transferred from verizon and i checked my member account web page on sunrocket i noticed an additional number besides the home number and the sunrocket number...i had them delete the 3rd number...which i think was the number that actually got transferred....it was 1 digit off from my home number....so my feeling is that my home number has NOT been entered into the relay system.... I was able to get the name and address of the co founder and marketing director of sunrocket and sent her a letter snail mail and am curious to see if I hear from her...she should get tomorrow.
thanks for having this great sounding board...i don't feel so isolated in this world of the annonymous....:-)

I've had a similar problem with Lingo. I tried their service before porting my landline number over. After I was happy with them I ported my original number over - this only took a couple of weeks. I deleted the number Lingo gave me so I would be left with only my original land line number. Unfortunately Lingo deleted the wrong number. I've phoned about a dozen times with promises it would be fixed but it still hasn't. Not much I can do except keep phoning. The service is great and I am saving a lot but it's a shame they can't sort out simple problem like this quickly - the only good thing is that I talk to someone with good English I would hate to be dealing with some of the customer service departments I read about in your reviews section.

I still glad I switched to VoIP.

Finally I got my number back. It took 8 weeks and lots of phone calls talking to the supervisors - I know it's painful but keep at them
