Default Netgear Router Set-up - Please help!

I have sunrocket VOIP.The configuration that I have now is
DSL to SUNROCKET VOIP to PC. This works fine. I could connect both to internet and the phone.
DSL to SUNROCKET VOIP to NETGEAR Router to PC this configuration does not work. The phone works but not the internet.
I checked with net gear who told me that I have to open some ports in the router by logging on to the port.
The question is how do I do that ?
Iam able to loginto the router
I have port triggering/port forwarding buttons.
    The port forwarding has a
1)Service Name where I can select from a drop down
list box which has the following
    AIM,AGE-OF-EMPIRE,FTP,HTTP,ICUII,IP_PHONE,NETMEETING,NEWS,PPT P,
    QUAKELL/IIIREAL-AUDIO and telnet.
    2) Server IP address where I will have to put in an
    address.
or else there is an ADD Custom BUTTON where I can add
an new service, a Server IP Address with a start port
    and end port.

or if I choose the Port triggering button where I
    have
    1) check box for Disable port triggering
    2) Port triggering timeout (in minutes)
    3) service name
    4) service type
    5) inbound connection
    6) service user
I will have to click the add service button and once
Iam done I will have to click the apply button.

Let me know if I have to do any of these.
    Thanks
    Rizwan

    Hi Rizwan.

Each router typically has a different mechanism to open and close ports. For Netgear, this is a decent paper on how to do it depending on your router model number:

    http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101145.asp

It sounds like it is the router that is misbehaving so I would debug it as follows:

    - Remove VoIP ATA from setup so just have DSL to router to PC.
    - Get your PC internet access working using the wizard on the Netgear configuration page to open the ports needed for data access. Also see link above.
    - Once this is working, follow the Sunrocket instructions to setup the voice connection and you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps.

Default Delete the router and use a Switch instead.

The VOIP adapter you are using may be acting like a router with 1 outgoing port.
This is the scenario I'm experiencing with my VoIP YourLife adapter. (LinkSys)
I'm using a 7 port NetGear Switch instead of my 5 port NetGear Router.

    VOIP adapter - NetGear switch - PC's.

    Hope this helps,
