    Default Fax with Packet8

I Have Packet 8 At Our Home. When I First Searched For A Voip Service, I Looked For One That Had Fax Capabilities. At That Time 2 Months Ago Packet 8 Was Advertising That They Had Fax Capabilities, And When I Tried To Set It Up They Told Me That There Had Been An Error In The Advertisement. Is There Any Way That You Know Of That I Can Hook Up Our All In One Printer, copier, fax, Machine To Send And Receive Faxes? The All In One Is Running Through Our Pc Already. Please Help If You Can.

    Sincerely, Sandie

    Hi Sandie,
Sorry to hear about your dilemma. If Packet8 dont support fax then I can think of two options:
    1) Find a new VoIP provider that does. You can go to our FREE VoIP Plan advanced search option, check the "fax" option and hit the "Start Plan Search" button. I just tried and also checked local and long distance and it came back with 18 different providers in our database that claim they support fax (not Packet8 though!).

    2) Try an "efax" provider like the following:
    http://www.telebay.com/marcone/efax.html
They have a monthly charge for the service though.

The thing with faxing is that its more sensitive to errors than voice traffic is so some of the providers handle it differently (to reduce possibility of errors), which is why some dont currently support it.
    Best Regards,
    Mike
