Do I need a special phone to use Vonage service?

I am asking for a friend who just got Vonage broadband phone service. Do you need a special Vonage phone to use Vonage service?

You should not require a special phone to use Vonage. You should be able to plug an ordinary phone into the Vonage supplied ATA (modem) device.
