Tough question to answer as it is based on your own telephony needs. What are your calling patterns, do you call internationally, do you need virtual numbers, which other VoIP features, how tech savvy are you, need fax etc? This is why no one provider is best for everyone.
We created an article on choosing a voip provider on our whichvoip.com website you may find useful. Takes you through some of the steps we recommend to help narrow it down to 1 or 2 providers.

Hi,
I just got a flyer (in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) that offers VOIP, 7 calling features, long distance, and internet for $39.95/mo. This is 1/2 what I'm paying now, and it's more services than I currently get. Anyone ever used them and are they reliable? How is the quality? Feels too good to be true.
Susan
Hi Susan.
Not too bad but you can get a lot cheaper VoIP Canada plans - take a peek at our Canada page.

Thanks.

Also take note of how far you are from the provider or if your internet connection doesn't hop in too many places first before getting to the provider.
But sometimes even if the provider is far from your area, you could still get very good connection. So I suggest pick the one that you think is best for you then give them a try. If they're good then stick with them otherwise find another one.
I went into 3 providers before finally settling out with Onesuite, which by the way just launch their VOIP services and the good thing about it was I already have an account with them![]()
Acanac is a USA and Canada company (www.acanac.ca) They do provide very competitive price in both DSL and VoIP service. I begin to use their service the day I moved to my new apartment in Montreal that was 6 months ago. In the very begining I did have inconveniente to make the two service work. Basically in order to use their DSL line I needed to have a dryline (it is provided by wire line company normally is local telephone company or cable company) from my local telephone company (In this case is Bell Canada). This telephone company took more than 2 weeks to install the dryline. Once the dryline was installed I connected with the ADSL-MODEM (Acanac sent me 4 days after I confirmed them an order) and after I pluged into dryline it just worked directly without any pain.
I bought a cheap D-Link router/switch that come with Wifi option. Once a time I configured the DSL account and Wifi option I could connect one of the local network port into Linksys PAP2 adapter that give me possibility to connect two VoIP service. And during the configuration I just had to go to their forum and there are already several discussion about how to install that device.
Now I have this D-Link router connecting the Linksys PAP2 ATA adapter for VoIP service of Acanac and still have access for my 1 notebook for internet. Everything works smoothly since then. I recommend their service if you are new user and have another telephone (like cellphone) option for the moment of "supprise". Now I use their VoIP for US and Canada call. Although they limit 50 different call numbers you can make during every month but I rarely exceed them, maybe it is one of bad limitation they put.
Hi Davincer
I am a customer of adepto telecom. i think they are quite good as they are having the lowest prices and you can call from your PC (no software or headphones needed), wap enabled mobile, landline or simple mobile phone.
All rates are below 0.3 USD per minute and most importantly they have by second charing (they do not round to the nerest minute).
I hope this helps you.
Cheers
