    Default USB Telephone and VoIP service

    Hi there,
    I recently purchased a usb telephone over the internet. My objective was to replace a headset. When the telephone arrived and I installed and tested it. I tested the audio levels with my current provider and it worked fine. The problem is that the phone won't let me make or receive calls. I know my computer recognizes it because it passed the audio test settings. I called the manufacture of the phone and I was told that I had to go thru a certain provider for it to work. I guess I'm real confused. Is there a way to bypass this obstacle? Your advice on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million.

    Hi.

    Couple of questions back at you to help us, haven't come across this problem before.

    What is the telephone model and what provider are you using? Also, what providers are recommended by the telephone manufacturer?
