As far as I can tell, voicepulse.com is the only provider that provides the telemarketing service. Does anyone know why that is? I cannot understand why nobody else is providing what seems to me to be a great service!

I agree! Telemarketing block is indeed a great VoIP feature. My only thought on this is that people use the caller ID feature that tends to comes with all the VoIP service provider plans.
From our VoIP features page at http://www.whichvoip.com/voip/info/voip_features.htm you will see explanations for all of the most popular VoIP features. Telemarketing block is defined as follows:
Telemarketer Blocking
Some telemarketers have a 2-3 second pause before they are connected with potential customers. When this happens the feature is programmed to disconnect the call before the telemarketer can make their pitch.

This is a fantastic feature and one you will love if you are fed up with telemarketers phoning just as you sit down for your evening meal. This feature typically sends out a special tone that fools the telemarketers auto-dialers into thinking that your number is not in service. The auto-dialers disconnect immediately and move onto the next number, leaving you to eat your evening meal in peace.
Good point. Thanks.
Andy
I was wondering if VoicePulse had some sort of patent on this technology or something. If anyone would know it is you (admin), so I am guessing they do not. Interesting.
And thanks for all the useful voip info!
