Port Cell phone number to VoIP number?

Hello,

I would like to know how much it would cost to become a VOIP service from a cell phone service. What is the infrastructure and systems needed for becoming a VOIP. Also, is it possible to port your phone number from a cell phone to VOIP, and if so, how does that work?

It is not clear from your email exactly what your intentions are, but I will assume you are interested in VoIP residential service for your personal needs.

All you need to have residential VoIP service is a broadband internet connection (typically DSL or Cable broadband service). I dont believe it is possible to port your cell number at this time, but somebody out there maybe be able to correct me on that one. However, this would be a good question for the service provider that you choose if you decide to go for VoIP phone service.
