There are maybe a few options here depending on your situations (just some that come to mind, but there maybe others):

    1) If you both have access to a computer and broadband internet access you can use a computer version of VoIP known as Skype. This will allow you to talk to each other for free, but you will need a headset and microphone to plug into your computers for best use.

    2) If your husband has a broadband internet access in Iraq you could maybe sign up in the US with a VoIP provider that allows "Travel Globally" feature. Your husband could then use the voip box in Iraq with a Geogia area code (or your local rate center) which would mean local calls between you (you can typically choose any area code you want for your voip service).

    3) You sign up with a voip provider that has cheap rates to Iraq and use voip for your home phone. This still means your husband has to call you internationally though.

    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Mike
