How to get a US local no. for overseas user?

I am located in HK but I wish to get a US local no. so that my friends at US can call me at local rate. Any VoIP provider has such service please?

You could use a softphone like Skype have a look at the SKYPE Pro option this lets you call the US from HK when you are traveling. A softphone is just a piece of software installed on your PC and as long as you have a microphone and a set of speakers then you are good to go.

If you want an actual phone then if you pick a plan that allows you to travel globally (click here for a list) you could get it shipped to you in HK but pick a US number. You may need to check with the terms and conditions as most providers won't ship abroad.
