    Default Directv DVR not talking over VoIP

    How can I get a phone connection from my directv dvr to my optimum voice over ip modem?

    When I connect a phone line from the dvr to the optimumvoice VoIP modem it comes back as failed, could not connect.

    For questions such as these we recommend contacting your VoIP Service Provider customer support to check whether your modem (ATA) supports this type of set-up.

    We currently do not have this compatibility information in our database for Optimum Voice, so they may not support this type of set-up.

    Other Service Providers do provide information on this type of set-up and have had success with supporting satellite DVR's etc. For example, you can check out the following Vonage information on connecting DVR's. We must stress though that it is highly recommended that you do contact your own VoIP service provider for solutions to these type of connectivity issues.
