    is there any voip software that allows editing(erase) of call records

    Not too sure what you want? If you host your own VoIP service like a VoIP PBX for your business then your administrator can probably erase call records or logs. If you have a residential service run by say Sunrocket or Vonage then no there should be no way to erase the call records.

    i have a residential service but dont want some numbers to appear in the call record--is there any voip service i can buy that will allow call erase?

    Each VoIP provider will have different configurable options available with their on line account management. Some may allow you to delete calls but I doubt it. One option is to pick a provider that does not supply a call log. I use lingo and I do not get an itemized list of incoming or outgoing calls. I've emailed them to see if it is even available to me. I'll post again once they have emailed me. If they do not supply a call then maybe this could be an option?

    hi-i phoned lingo and they say a listing of all calls(sent and recd) is a basic function of their software!!

    Sorry I've just found mine tucked down one of the menus. I think you are out of luck, as I said I doubt there will be anyway to erase the logs or partially erase the logs. I'm not too sure why you want to erase some numbers but you could get VoIP for your house and get something Like SKYPE which is a softphone that runs on you PC as a second account only for you. All you need is a speaker or headphones and microphone.
