In an attempt to completely overhaul its voice, data, telecommunication, and Internet services, the U.S. Federal Government has decided to pull out all the stops. Recently, it awarded a telecommunication contract worth up to $20 billion and spanning ten years to five telecommunication companies, namely: AT&T, Level 3, Sprint Nextel, Qwest, and Verizon.
