Currently have Comcast for Broadband and home phone service. If I use Comcast for Internet do I need to stick with them for phone service or can I go with other phone providers I see advertised?

So long as you have high speed internet you can go with any VoIP provider.

I am curious as to why you want to change?

I am investiging VoIP and have been reviewing the reviews on Comcast at http://www.whichvoip.com/voip/user_reviews/comcast-voip-review.php.

Admittedly not the best reviews possible with other providers such as PhonePower and ITP getting better scores (http://www.whichvoip.com/voip/voip_reviews.htm), but the Comcast Digital Voice bundle does seem very attractive.
